Does FXCM Trading Station work on Windows 8?

Does FXCM Trading Station desktop work on Windows 8?
Any information on this would be good, thanks.

Hi Tom,

Trading Station Desktop will work on Windows 8, but it does not have any extra features specific to Windows 8 related to touch screens. If you’re looking to run Trading Station just as you would on Windows 7, then it will work just fine. However, if it’s touch screen functionality you are after, then we currently have tablet versions of Trading Station Mobile for Android and iPad, but nothing for Windows 8 just yet.

Hi, I got android version from google play and it does not work at all. Always after few seconds crashed. So I used FXCM support specialists to help me out with the problem. After quick chat he said to uninstall and install again plus turn off device ( not something I would not know but why not ) left the chat and done that. Problem was still there. After aprox. 40 crashes and 4 chats with specialists and always been told the same turn off uninstall … no other advice. No one came with any other idea, even if they would say just " smash that tablet its a piece of … would be appreciated as it would be different than still hear turn off turn on or uninstall and install again.
Guys, are you sure you employed right guys? Honestly, this is a joke, no one seems to care at all.

Hi pFrank,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had difficulties with our Android app. When uninstalling and reinstalling the platform did not resolve the issue, my colleagues on chat should have set up a follow up call for you with one of our tech specialists. It’s much easier to troubleshoot a tech issue over the phone rather than via chat, and I apologize that my colleagues on chat did not set up such a tech call for you. I’ve spoken with our tech support team about your problem, and here’s what they said:

“On your Android device, go to Device Settings > Application manager > Apps > FXCM > Clear Cache > Force Close > Relaunch TSMobile”

If that doesn’t solve the problem, my colleagues in our tech support team would like to speak with you on the phone to investigate in more detail. You can call our tech support team anytime 24 hours a day using our international toll-free numbers.

Welcome to the forum

Hi Jason, thank you for reply. I got an email from fxcm today with exactly same advice but even that did not help unfortunately. Still crashing, here is the report I’m getting all the time. Maybe someone around here had same problem.

App Version: 1.5.110712
OS: Linux 3.0.31-805288
Screen Resolution: 1280x752
Screen Density: 160
Log:
03/27 1:55:35 Crash: RangeError: Error #1125

Thanks for this info, pFrank

An updated version of the app is now available for Android in the Google Play Store. It will resolve the tech issue you have been facing. Please uninstall and reinstall one more time. You can then very that you have the latest version of the app by going to Settings > About within the platform. It should say Version 1.6.032913

Hi Jason, don’t know really how to say that. Downloaded the latest one version. But its still crashing, some improvement is there ( now I can stay on chart for about 20 seconds before it will crash ) but that still doesn’t work for me. So I will just stick to mt4, shame as I like the trade station. Anyway, can I find some alert news for androids mt4? The one you have got on your fxcm web does not like android as well. Can’t open file it says after download.
That makes me think if there is any problem with the trade station like that as well ( flash player, adobe, browser etc. I don’t understand these things much to be fair. )

If you’ve already confirmed that you are using Version 1.6.032913 on your Android device, then the next step would be to have you speak with one of my colleagues in technical support to troubleshoot other possible causes for the problems you have been facing with the mobile app. As I mentioned in a previous post, our tech support team is available anytime 24 hours a day using our international toll-free numbers. Alternatively, you can send me a private message with your phone number and the best time to reach you, and I’ll be happy to schedule a follow up call for you with one of our tech specialists.
