Does the browser matter in trading?

I just completed the school and moving on to demo trading. I’m still reading about brokers for my demo and there seems to be a lot here already. Just wondering if the browser I use to demo trade makes any difference. Thanks.

What is your browser? I am still using Google Chrome and I think it is the best.

I think any mainstream browser that’s up-to-date should work just fine. Then only thing I could see a browser helping you with is if the browser includes some extension/add-on app that performs some value service for you and your trading.

Maybe your browser includes a screenshot extension/app or video recording app, integrated into the browser, that you can use when demo trading. I find taking screenshots of a chart helps if ever I come back to that specific trade. Helps me get a better idea of why I did or didn’t do something. But you can get that information if you also keep a journal of your trades.

There’s a really good lesson on why you should use a trade journal. It’s here on the website.

One other thought. Whichever broker you decide to go with, or charting platform, they might only support specific browsers. So check with them. But I don’t really see that as a big issue. Web based platforms will run on almost any current browser.

If your browser is up to date, I think there is no problem. But I prefer google chrome as a browser to trade. I use google chrome as my browser.

in my opinion, it doesn’t matter if you use one of the most popular browsers

sounds really good that you have finished the pre school level , its more appropriate to avoid old browser version , majority forex traders new or seniors i have seen they use Google chrome. its most secure and comfortable to use.

I’m still using Google Chrome. But I heard about these other browsers like Brave, so I was wondering if it mattered at all. Thanks!

Lots to think about. Thanks! I have a couple of extensions already added to my current browser, but I don’t have one for screenshots yet. I’m also thinking of creating a journal but I have to pick a stratey.

Thanks to all! Looks like we’re all set with just the chrome I’m using right now. Might just need to add a few extensions to make recording my trades easier.

I recommend using Google Chrome. It is one of the most convenient and fastest browsers I have ever used. Plus, most sites are made under Chrome, so they load faster. There is only one drawback - Chrome loads the system, and if you have a weak laptop or PC, you will feel the system slow down.

I think most brokers clearly state that the demo account they offer is accessible though all browsers and across all operating systems, so I don’t think choice of browser matters that much.

Yea too many tabs and your Chrome browser can slow your computer down massively. I’ve noticed this has gotten worse the last couple years. It’s why I stopped using Firefox. So keep an eye on how many tabs you have open at the same time.

Did you mean why you started using Firefox? Yeah been using Chrome also and it’s not been speedy at all lately… Of course it doesn’t help that I have 250 tabs open each time

Stopped using FF years ago, and its slowdown is what pushed me to Chrome. Now Chrome is doing the same thing, or has been for some time.

It is good. Using the same.

Have you tried Edge? I tried other browsers but the change is too drastic for me when everything’s already on Chrome. It’s terrible lmao.

I think it does not matter a lot if your browser is working normally it will be ok for trading, the main issue is concerned with connectivity. Internet connection should be fast and not disturbing. doing trading on a demo is without errors but we face requotes and some errors in live trading, it is due to the broker services and internet connectivity so be careful about these two to do good trading on live accounts.

Yea, a bit, but not for trading. I guess I could start. Nothing really holding me to Chrome, other than it remembering passwords and logins.

Yes or even perhaps your computer’s processor.

Yes, it does. If your browser is fast, you will get the real time updates and if it’s not, you will lag behind.
