All companies offering exchange services between crypto and fiat currencies and vise versa will have to register with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) before 10 January 2020.
DNB advises all companies in question, including wallet providers, to contact the Central Bank as soon as possible.
The measures are taken in accordance with the fifth European anti- money laundering directive, which came into effect back in July, and which is aimed to curb money laundering and terrorist financing.
Regulations come in different aspects. Government do not want to regulate to shield the public from scams all around. They interest is money laundering and black money political funding.
Money laundering is definitely something regulation is trying to help with. The fiat monies need to get into the digital ecosystem somehow. Unless the bad guys are depositing money in crypto ATMs, they have to work financial institutions like bank to move serious money. That’s where the KYC and AML policies and regulation come into play.
