The default settings afaik should include “Leave_lots_0_to_use_Risk_calc;” I think, OOTB it is might be 50 which is not correct. It should be 0 . Read the inputs, they are very straightforward and fire any queries back. Understand it is an EA and as such cannot win all the time - who can ! It is up to you to apply it discretionally in accord your own risk/aggression “ratio”. I have had it do very high performance in some market conditions and not good in others. It is not a Panacea to all your ills. Some use it discretionally on select pairs. My own approach is to have it on ALL pairs. There are no rights or wrongs, just different approaches and risk tolerances.
Go to it fellas - let’s see what happens.
If you can average 30 pips a day for an entire months of course that is considered successful. As long as you keep draw downs low you will be way ahead at the end of a year with a 30 pip per day average as long as you up your lot-size as your account allows you too.
Thanks for the EA, finally can have this EA.
Default settings in this EA is what i am using.
Set lot size to 0 to use risk in the EA.
Please feel free to test them with different settings if anyone can improve the EA with better settings please let us know.
Hello, thanks for the EA. I am backtesting it now and it does not execute positions itself, am I doing something wrong?
sandybeach,
Thanks for post this EA and everyone contributed to this EA, great job, I have been following this thread long ago.
I have attached this EA with default setting, it does not trade in 2 days.
do I need to change some setting, eg. the debug setting (which is true by default)?
please ignore the above question.
finally, it opened a position, sell eurnzd @1.5604, s/l: 1.5915, now losing 110 pips (still open)
I doubt this position will be a winner, as this happened after a big price gap
I have a suggestion, could we add a filter to exclude this big gap days, like the May 18th big gap in eurusd?
maybe set a condition max gap between two daily bar can not above xx pips.
Just my opinion.
Hi guys can you answer me if the price already is above or below the 50EMA can we enter trade or we have to wait until price break again the EMA? maybe were asked such a question, but I can`t find it.
Thanks
as a note i also did not have trades from the wicks EA this week so far. The EA will not trade daily only when their is enough movement to hit the 110 fib level. Some days you wont gwt trades other days it will go like a rocket.
This is juat how the EA is
Hello Sandy, I am trying to back test it and it does not open any positions. So far tried on 5M chart and hourly, nothing happens. All the settings are the same as default… am I doing something wrong?
As I know, it should be put on daily chart or 4hr chart, not smaller tf.
thanks for reply.
it opened two position now, I will test it more time.
Happy trading!
Daniel
ah only put the EA on the daily chart.
how is everyone doing with v32 of the EA? Any problems etc?
Is it trading well for you guys?
For me i quite like the EA on EURUSD AUDUSD GBPUSD AND USDCAD.
The EA works great for me, start running on MAR 18, running on all available pairs on this platform, 1 win, 1 loss, 6 open position till now.
start with $5000 on Nordfx demo, now balance 4934, floating loss $187.
I will keep it running for 1-2 months at least to see the results, will post here.
Regards,
Daniel
I have had it running for quite a while on all pairs. Slowly bleeding to death with no strong trends being captured. There are adequate trends in some pairs but they contain numerous reversals that are enough to take the EA out and also make it difficult for a re-entry - or that’s how I see it. To be honest, I am not watching it closely, just letting it run on a spare machine.
I’m running the original system on a demo account (markets.com MT4) and I’m very excited about it. Thanks for sharing Windsor!
The only problem I have is that the MoveStopExpert doesn’t work. I’ve the mq4 file in the experts folder, have added it to some trades to test it, but nothing happend when the price hits the 131.8 level. I tried it multiple times, also with my pc still online and MT4 opened.
For example:
this morning (10:45 GMT +1 March 25th)
GBP/NZD
I did this:
TicketOrderNo - 9024161
Target1 - 1.80848
MoveStopTo - 1.81397
It hit the target around 14:30 (PC shut down) and 22:30 (PC online & MT4 opened) (GMT +1)
but nothing happend…
I wasn’t taking much profit if it did, but still… If the MoveStopExpert doesn’t work, I have to stay home and do it manually.
But I can’t because I have a job.
Anyone having this problem also?
I just thought… at 14:30 the stoploss didn’t move because my pc was shut down.
But at 22:30 my PC was online. Maybe the stoploss didn’t move because the BUY price did not hit the 161.8?
The marketprice hit the 1.80848, but the Buy price didn’t because it’s 25 pips (or 250 points) higher. Could that be the reason why my stoploss didn’t move?
Hi Bas - I am not familiar with the MoveStop EA but unless the stop was entered as a normal stop in the market ie. showing up in your terminal, the EA cannot act if the PC is switched off.
MoveStop EA is part of Windsor’s original plan (the method way back). As far as I know, the PC needs to be online for the duration of the trade for the EA to work.
