From about 2 months am running Easy Walker EA, which is an asian scalper developed by the well known Warrior team. It is a very good EA and that is showed on 2 ref accounts at Pepperstone and IC markets:
I dont run the ea but since alpari uk went insolvent i am realy glad that i will get my money back via FSCS.
Today i received my confirmation email from fscs. my funds are on the way to my bank account. I would never trade serious money with a non FCA Broker. In the worst case you will lost your whole account and australia is far far away…also from italy you will need some time swimming between the sharks
If IC Markets will never go insolvent, and hope not, i will simply put a cross on the balance.:31: Most of my fundamental Are on Activtrades which at the moement i think is the best FCA UK regulated broker.
The current performance is good, as it was about 9 months ago, but the time in between was tough. So the difficulty with this EA is to guess whether such a period is just a draw down or the death of the strategy.
Yes very true.
If you look at the equity curve of the most eas who are running real forward with good gains for years its realy hard to withstand the dd periods. For me that was realy a problem the last years. My approach to change the portfolio many times and to exchange eas wasnt very succesful.
Imho its better to have one portfolio or only one ea you trust and let him run with your capital for 12 months. After that you can decide if its still valid for you.
On a small account you can play around with other eas signals or whatever you want to test.
Trading should be fun not stress.
In the IC Markets ref account i do not see any tough period, but short stagnation periods. On the FX Open Stp account the EA stopped to work and the cause is very simple: spreads Are too high. This is not an holy grail for sure but is a pleasure to see how it trades: places many trades every night and they Are closed very fast. This EA Anyway is very sensibile, maybe the most sènsible i saw, so it need a suitable broker and possibly a good VPS. Argolab changes often the setfiles and in the last version they have introduced a Smart MM option: this increases the lotsize on the best performing pairs and reduces the lotsize on the worse ones. Up to now very satisfied, but is not an EA for all: u need to Open and account at Pepperstone or IC Markets or try it on other low spread ecn broker, pay for the EA which is not the chepest, subscribe to a VPS with low latency and for all These there is no sense running it on a small balance account. Currently running it on IC Markets togheter with Forex real profit EA, Keltner, Monetizer and copying trades from a demo account too. This month i am up Almost 40% in 2 weeks (and Also banking some rebates since some of These eas trades quite often and so in the account i have for the moemnt something like 50 lots). Probably will switch on This account a Megadroid license too.
what counts is that it works for you and if you are feeling comfortable with an aussie broker all is fine. i removed all my funds from pepperstone and icmarket months ago and will never touch non FCA brokers again.
But maybe darwinex or gomarkets uk is working. gomarkets is an aussie broker now also offering accounts in uk under fca regulation. maybe their data feed is working. you could try it with a demo if possible?
Mark, unfortunately, Also if the EA is not a cheap one, they allow u to use only 1 account. Anyway if Gomarkets has low spreads during the asian session it will work. EW opens most of the trades at 11 PM Italy / Germany time. You can compare the spreads on the supported pairs at that time and compare with the IC Markets spreads. Pepperstone seems to be Also better than IC M on EW. Darwinex if i ma not wrong uses the Lmax feed, so spreads should be higher than IC M. If i remember good there is Also anothe UK broker with good spreads, GFK or something like this. They offer 30 days refund. U should Also consider to rent a good VPS
Currently running on my hope PC which is new and with a very stable internet connection. But on a good VPS i would achieve some points more on a lot of trades. Currently the pairs Are working very good Are GBPusd and eurjpy.
At the moement the only asian session scalpers really working Are: Easy Walker, Megadroid (but as you know it trades only few time per month and stop loss Are much wider) and Forex Real Profit which has Also a very good BO strategy. On FRP EA u can activate as many demo accounts as u want
Other nice trades this night on EW: + 12.2 pips on GBPUSD and + 6.3 pips on EURUSD
Now my IC markets account running many EAs including Easy walker is almost completely public and the EW trades can be selected with the magic number 987 https://www.myfxbook.com/portfolio/ic-markets-rebates-generator-3/1137101
The account us running on my home PC; if runned on a good VPS with low latency on the NY IC markets server, results would be even better
How is performing EW on Activtrades, a broker with a good datafeed but with not so tight spreads (is not an ECN with commissions but an STP with no commissions and higher spreads)?: not bad at all but is too early to express an opinion. Attached my current stats and will make further considerations when will have at least 100 trades. Most probably will run only EURUSD (which appear to be more active on Activtrades), GBPUSD and EURJPY
Have posted this already in nthe Argolab forum, but since i have opend this thread and maybe there is someone interested in this asian scalper i am posting here too. EW Walker trades a lot and SL are tight, and these are 2 of the strongest aspect of this EA. Usually the EA closes the trades earlier than sl, but also if the sl is hit, since it is tight and the EA places many trades, u will recover in few days. Onother thing i like a lot is the active MM it uses. Increases the lotsize on the best performing pairs and decreases the lotsize for the pairs with worse perfomance: it showed to be able to further increase the profitability of this EA. I like also the new b10 setfiles: sometimes b10 and w8 open trades at the same time, but then b10 aim to a larger profit than w8 (that is my impression for now), and i like it. To further diversificate the risk, i am running both w8 and b10 sf (for eurgbp w4), but for the moment higher risk on w8 (for b10 i will wait some few more weeks to rise tyhe risk). To explaine better my MM approach: i set the active MM to false, but in the HUD i see the suggetsed level of risk (based on the performnace of the pair); then i split the risk on the 2 different setfiles (where available both). Only i use a lower risk than suggested because i run many other EA on the same account (for example, the HUD show me a suggested risk of 20 for GBPUSD, and i use risk 10 on GBPUSD w8 and risk 5 on GBPUSD b10)
Currently running on my IC markets account with very good results ( i have from few days slightly increased the max spread value for some pairs and so am having some more trades than the ref account and up to now all went in tp) Error | Myfxbook (select magic numbers 987 and 9701)
From 10 days running EW also on Activtrades and so far results are very good also if spreads are much higher: on GBPUSD i am strongly outperforming the IC markets ref account: see attached pics: my Activtrades made 10 trades with a total of + 83.5 pips while the ref made 4 trades with + 17 pips from 19 May
Later will post some other stats comparison. My impression is that on Activtrades GBPUSD, EURGBP and EURUSD are much more active. Will keep all updated with my findings
