ECB President Trichet Holds Improved Outlook, Sees Inflation Expectations Broadly Anc

ECB President Trichet reiterated that ECB measures show some signs of a revival in European money market functions and stated that once the economic environment improves, the ECB will ensure a quick unwinding of liquidity measures. He stressed that inflation expectations remain broadly anchored and that any threats to price stability over the medium term will be countered in a timely fashion. Appearing just after yesterday’s policy announcement, comments are in line with yesterday’s press conference.
