EMA in MT5 - where is it?!

Hi all.

I am using MT5 and was using AMA before reading about EMA which is referenced more frequently in news posts etc. I understand the difference between AMA and EMA thanks to babypips!

So in MT5 I see:

Double Exponential Moving Average
Triple Exponential Moving Average
But no ‘Exponential Moving Average’.
EUR/USD

The top red line is ‘Triple’, the middle red line is ‘double’ and the bottom turqoiuse line is AMA.

When would I use each… Where is basic ‘EMA’(if that is a thing on its own!)?

Hi, did you choose moving average and pick ema as type? Regards Greg

No, I picked these options from the list seen in my first screenshot.

Greg is just answering your question, Andy, by telling you where the EMA is, in MT5: right click on “moving average” then left click on “attach to chart”, and then select “exponential” for “method” on the drop-down menu available in the box that opens over the chart
