Ema type by number

hi,i have an EA ma crossover,i dont understand setting ma type, what is the number for EMA TYPE,it is a number 1 or 2 or 3 or 4,i want an EMA type but dont know what number fit the EMA type, thank

More often I’ve seen the expression “MA Type”. Usually you have a decision whether to use EMA, Exponential Moving Average or SMA, Simple Moving Average.

Mathematically there are other variations but only EMA and SMA are widley used in technical analysis of price charts.

For most traders, EMA and SMA are so similar they won’t greatly affect the strategy or performance.

there are only number availlable for ma type

All MA’s have a period - the number of days over which the data is collected and calculated. A 50EMA is an Exponential Moving Average with a period of the last 50 days etc.

I’m guessing, but it may determine whether it’s an EMA of the close, the median, the typical price, the weighted-close, or whatever. I’ve seen that before. I may be wrong.

Who compiled the EA?

Can you ask them?

I think it depends on how your EA is setup! Did guide mention anything about it?

For EMA (Exponential Moving Average), the correct number is typically “2” in most EA settings, as it represents the EMA type compared to SMA or other types.
