I’ve been looking around on getting this to work however am left hanging. I have tried going to Tools -> Options -> Email Tab to set up email notifications. I’ve tried multiple times with Gmail and a half-arse attempt at windows Live mail but thought I’d come here to save myself the trouble.
Does anyone have this working?
best way is to use your internet provider’s server.
For instance, my cable and internet is provided by Charter, so my Charter email is <XXX_AT_charter.net>, then use my charter email password, etc…
I tried to use gmail, yahoo, etc but eventually gave up

I may have found a nice easy workaround- this may turn into a how to thread to permanently get rid of the mail server issues with other accounts like gmail etc.
I’ll check back in once I get this tested.

Turns out my ISP increased security and needed verification and it’s own server for things to get authenticated. No tutorial or how to here 
Stay tuned for the VPS though as a huge chunk of it just got accomplished with these alerts now working!
