Esignals vs. Meta Trader 4

I understand Meta is a trading platform, while esignals is just charting.

But which do you use and why? I’m looking to do some research this week, and then pick one to learn on from then on.

Thanks

Simple… Metatrader is free, eSignal is $175 per month. eSignal doesn’t do anything that MT4 can’t do, so, at least to me, it’s a no brainer.

I have a Forex.com acct. with at least $1000 in it, so I don’t have to pay the$175/month

Metatrader is for amateurs and eSignal for pros. Hence the price…

esignal is for pros… they get price feeds from over 300 sources I believe, and it gives you what is happening in the entire market where as with MT4 you get what you get from your broker (5-6 sources perhaps?).

I’ve only seen MetaTrader used by wannabe traders playing monopoly with the forex market…

Is there anything functionally that MT4 can do that eSignal cant? Like customizeable indicators/scripts/triggers, etc?

Its not how many sources you access, or where youre receiving it from that matters, but what you do with it as it ticks across your screen that counts.

If you know what youre doing it doesnt matter a damn where you get your prices from.
Via the spot routing, theyre all within a heartbeat or two of each other anyway.

Most of the clowns shelling out good $s for price feeds would be best served treating their partners to some decent chow for all the good it does them.

This industry is a salesmans paradise

You can pretty much do anything you want with eSignal. It’s a charting package and a trading platform with an engine for automated trading

You can program your indicators and do your back testing.

Now, have you ever tried to follow several instruments on multiple monitors with MT4?

I didn’t say you couldn’t.

Im well aware of what it is.
And if thats what folks feel they need to have in their corner in order to get the job done, then so be it.

The vast majority of folks on Babypips are heavily biased toward Forex.

That same majority are also usually new to the FX environment, & in most cases, trading in general.
Unless theyre also trading currency futures & options contracts, then the free offerings are more than suitable & appropriate for their needs.

Oh maaaaan, could I not have some real fun with statement :stuck_out_tongue:
but its forecast to be a nice sunny weekend & the clocks running down on summer!

You mean like this?.

Tell ya what Jocie,

you seem a pretty smart guy and I’m sure you know what’s best.

As for me - sorry for sounding a bit unsociable - I have better things to do than getting involved in what seems to be a pointless argument about trading/charting platforms. I don’t even work for eSignal, so…

You like your own, I like my own - terrific. Now with that I’m sure we can part ways without feeling like we’ve left the other one with some misunderstanding

Take care

I should take myself off this email list for good

If youve got the opportunity to access both without any financial outlay, why not experiment with each firms features & functionality & see which package more closely fits your aims & requirements.

Most of the technical package suites out there provide a reasonable demonstration period in which to check out & familiarize yourself with their bells & whistles, if thats what youre seeking.

Great post, Jocelyn

You called it like it is. Nice and straight :D:D

Hi Jocelyn,

Could you tell me which MT4 that is in your post please?

Cheers
