EUR/USD: What to Expect Heading into the End of the Year

With the central bank meetings now out of the way, what can we expect from EUR/USD heading into the end of the year?

The currency pair has been trending downwards since May, and a continuation of this trend would be expected given the Fed’s decision to tighten monetary policy while the ECB remained relatively dovish. However, EUR/USD has been consolidating since it posted a false breakdown in late November, and a move in either direction looks possible at the moment.
