FCA to Ban All Crypto CFDs for Retail Traders?

In light of recent events, the FCA is considering to place a permanent ban on all sales of crypto derivatives to retail investors. In their document entitled “Restricting contract for difference products sold to retail clients” the FCA briefly mentions their future plans concerning the issue.

The regulator issued an official press detailing their intentions. In it, the UK watchdog claims that crypto assets are “ill-suited” for retail investors, most of whom are unaware of the hidden dangers that these instruments hide, mainly their capabilities to quickly deplete bank accounts due to most traders’ incompetence in dealing with them.

Yeah sounds good. They’re too easily manipulated. Lets kill off these cryptos haha!

I really doubt that is going to happen anytime soon. Regardless of their flaws and issues cryptos are here to stay, so I just hope they improve.

Let’s see. Once governments start using blockchain technology in banks etc then no need for these random coins. Well ofcourse money launderers still need them.

They’re banning crypto CFDs though, that’s not the same as banning cryptocurrencies.
