Welcome. I am definitely Not your age, but I started my trading journey at about your age back in 1984 as a Junior in Hugh School. Awesome to see.

Congrats on starting so early! Not a lot of young folks here chatting. Maybe you can get them out of the shadows. Welcome!

I wish you good luck, and nothing but success - but am also honest enough to mention that I’m pretty taken aback to see that you’re “learning ICT trading” rather than just “learning trading”, as anyone else might aspire to. That sounds like both a huge decision and a huge limitation - and “from one so young”! :open_mouth: :grinning:

thanks. what do u really mean by ‘limitation’…

Hello. I have been trading for a while, but I haven’t tried ICT yet. What do you like most about ICT trading?

Welcome to the community  Respect for starting so young!!! I don’t trade ICT myself but keep learning, the right people will find you.

I mean that if your aspiration is to “learn ICT trading”, it sounds like you’re choosing to ignore the other 99% of trading information, education and approaches available. That sounds pretty limiting, to me.

Yeah that’s true. I get it. I’ve been learning things like indicators and many things you can name. But now they really don’t make sense. But thank you for your comment, that’s true.

Yes i hope so. Thnx.

I like the whole ICT teachings because they make sense, with logic. And for me, liquidity and market maker models are the best.

I certainly agree with that part (but still wouldn’t touch ICT, myself). Good luck, though!

I don’t know what ICT teaches, but I do know that lots of the principle things are used by professional traders. ICT doesn’t teach new concepts, just renamed what’s been around for years.

FVG are a very good way to trade indexes combined with other methods. But it’s nothing to do with identifying where price is likely to move and everything to do with discipline. Don’t trade because you want to. Identify where you want to trade and wait. If price turns before it gets there, don’t jump in, keep waiting. You might miss out, but there will be more chances. Always use a stop loss and move it to break even as early as possible.

Exactly.

There are worse things to look at than ICT, certainly, but don’t imagine that your choices as a learner-trader are “ICT or indicators”. That’s not right at all!

thanks for the advice! i get it. and true, discipline is the real game though.

I agree to that. Whatever, they are still valid and in play. I mean, those concepts are like the core principles. But ICT alone doesn’t help us, it’s the discipline. thanks for comment though.

Trading is a mind game - focus on the mental approach.

Have you read Best Loser Wins - Tom Hougaard ? If not, I think it would be wise to. :+1:

That’s really interesting! I have heard a lot about the liquidity and market maker models in ICT but haven’t fully explored them yet. Do you have any suggestions on where I should start?
