“Finding a 1-on-1 mentor.”

I am looking for 1-on-1 mentorship for trading. How can I find one? I have been trading for 4 years, but I am not profitable. It’s time for me to find a mentor.

You can find a reliable, honest one only through people you know personally.

The major point to understand is that earning money by offering a “mentoring service” is incomparably easier than earning money through trading.

Most people offering “mentoring” can’t really trade successfully, and there are loads of them, especially in forums. They normally “talk a very good game”, and are articulate and pretty convincing, but there’s never any objective evidence available of the alleged value of their mentoring.

It’s essential never to rely on prepared or online testimonials of any kind, but to get recommendations only from people you know and trust in real life. It’s really difficult.

That sucks to put that much time in without results. Your best bet is to ask someone you know and trust that is consistently profitable about who mentored them and use that referral.

In general, I would be careful posting questions like this to people that you haven’t vetted, otherwise you’re inviting the fox into the henhouse.

Good luck!

I’m really sorry to hear it (though of course you’re far from alone, there).

I agree with everything already said.

Above all, if following up any recommendations via a forum, there are two really crucial points:

  1. Make sure they’re recommendations in public posts, not in private messages (those would be incentivised spam, for sure - and that happens here, as in other forums: I’ve been here no time at all, but have already received some, myself);

  2. Make sure they come from well respected, longstanding members with high post-counts (and never from people who’ve just joined now - “by weird coincidence” but want to offer a recommendation!).

What he said.

But being that I’ve spent enough time here, I’m not sure if the OP is even truly asking (it is a very legitimate question after all) or if this is a setup. We’ll have to wait and see who responds I guess.

Why don’t you give an original reply instead of running someone else’s reply through AI?

It’s a bot, @MartialChartsFX .

I keep reporting it to the moderators, but nothing ever happens. These things are apparently “protected” here, for some reason. :unamused:

LOL, I’ve only posted here three times (before this post), and already one of my posts has already been recycled by a forum bot? :-1:

I don’t know whether to be flattered or offended!

This can help, link below?

I see that now. Weird that Elliotrades08’s post suddenly disappeared. I suspect that Elliotrades08 is a shill for an unregulated broker since the only topic that they created was an obvious broker promotion.

I’d already reported it before you posted, to be honest.

Still, it’s really very rare for one of its posts (or any posts of any of the other bots) to be removed - I’m sure you helped, this time!

All its other posts are still on the board and its profile still active. It will be back again, soon enough, pasting in garbage. You’ll see.

(“M.Joey” is another one. They won’t remove that, either.)

It is actually true, you know, what so many members say in so many threads: the bots really are protected, here, it’s the ever-decreasing number of real members like you and I, who can actually contribute some value, who are inevitably lost. Crazy.
