Like, suppose I bought oil at X amount today without leverage, can I keep the position for years to come or will the fxcm broker close the position for me after a certain period of time?

If you had asked about any other product (forex, stock indices, metals, share CFDs) then I would have told you that you would be able to keep your position open indefinitely since you would be trading with 1:1 leverage.
However, energy products (USOil, UKOil and NGAS) are the only instruments we offer for trading where the contracts expire each month. This page has info on the exact expiration dates for each contract: Trade Oil and Natural Gas - FXCM
