Forex Factory Locked?

I’ve been using the news calendar on Forex Factory to sort of keep an eye on the basic fundamentals. I like this particular calendar because it tells me what currencies each bit of news ought to affect and how strongly they might be affected. Over this past week, I’ve come up with a way to use this in my trading. However, this morning I clicked the link to go there and it is now asking me for a username and password, something it has never done before?

Is this their way of saying the server is down for maintenance? Is their information no longer available to the general public? If so, are there any other good sites where I can get this kind of information in calendar format?

I had the exact same issue. I couldn’t get the login to work. I even tried clearing my cache, and still the problem.

Instead, I went to profitingwithforex.com and read the news blogs and got some good info there.

The website was hacked. Apparently a trojan virus is going wild. They’ve been trying to prevent further complications. Try to stay away from it until tonight or tomorrow morning. :slight_smile:

Oh thanks god it’s a common issue. I don’t know what I’d do without FF.

Always have two options. There is another clean site that is filling in a lot of the information that FF had, and it looks like a good secondary options. Bookmark FxTicker | Forex Trading as well. They both have a Calendar, News, and Forums.

Tuesday April 17th 8:04 Est. … forex factory was attacked yesterday… and in the evening it was ok, this morning i went there again and i got the virus:eek: , luckily i thought it might still be under attack so i went there on my old computer, healing it now with free avg addition, it caught the virus. well just wanted to pass on the info to those of you who may visit that site as well. hopefully it gets fixed :slight_smile:

even now as of a few minutes back, i am having problems entering forexfactory…
anyone else having same problems? it was working ok int he morning

It’s working fine for me now. My antivirus program isn’t complaining, so hopefully it’s all fixed.

Thanks for the info, genghis. I like the forexfactory calendar also.
Dailyfx is okay, but doesn’t give you the hi-med-lo impact ratings.
Have you found any other decent back-ups?

I tracked the IP back to Russia for the hacker but it is a fake IP there is no real way to track the guy. I hate people like that Forex Factory is a good site the guy that attacked it is an idiot. The owner Merlin can be rude I have heard he might have screwed with the wrong person. I googled ‘hire a hacker’ and found heaps of them they need to protect themselves more.

They do not update the releases regularly yet which kina sucks but I asked the owner and he said beta testing is over the calender should be updated regularly soon. They do get the reports written weekly before Forex factory does they just do not update it when they are released.

I had kaspersky virus protection so I didn’t get infected but that virus is nasty. Hope everybody got through it ok.

Yes it is working fine with me too. I think there must be some temporary problem which is no more as I just login there one hour ago.

Still not working for me… It is my home page and just wont come up, neither will any of the links. Almost having withdrawl symptoms.

Get a kaspersky av 2009 it should be ok

Did create signature with a link? If so then forexfactory might banned you forever like mine.
