Hi, Does anybody do forex scalping? if so can you tell me which brokerage do you use and how are you doing with scalping in forex. I know that some brokers may close your account if they find your scalping.
Oanda will let you scalp any ECN will let you FXCM will close your account
check this one out, i traded with them for many months now and so far they are very reliable at keeping their spreads where they promise for them to be.(LOW)

Scalping is how I make my living. Any broker who closes your account for scalping doesn’t deserve anyone’s business. Oanda is my broker, but I use GFT to plan trades. You’d have no problem scalping with either of them.
Anyone tried scalping with Alpari Uk?
I never understood why people say that brokers do not allow scalping. I thought brokers make their living by selling and buying currencies. The more times they sell and buy, the more they earn. Or did I miss something?
Hi,
I scalp with Alpari UK and FxPro.com for quite some time now. It depends how you understand and use scalping method. I normally enter and exit the market in less than 5 minutes and profit between 5 to 70 pips each round trades. This way I consistently have an average account growth/profit of between 15% - 20%.
Happy trading
if you ask me…one newbie to other. Scalping is not the way to go for the first few months you trade. You would be taking trades on 5 min charts(or in worse cases on 1 min charts), the price actions would be too fast.
Plus making 5 pips to pay a spread of 2-3 pips is not my idea of a trade.
If you still wanna do it. OandA is the best in the business for scalp trades
Oanda is not the best in the business the java platform lags, spreads arent fixed and they vary all day. The price on the 5 min charts is the same on the one day charts. The only difference is the candle formations for trends. If you cant open a order in under 5 min (or better 1 min). You are nuking a trade. Becertain and go for it.
Some shops trade agaisnt you like a person in a desk placing the reverse trade of yours this way they hedge themselves against your trade. When you scalp that personsitting at the desk doesnt have time to enter a trade to hedge and in reality the profit you made comes from the shops pocket.
Lagging might be due to a slow net connection. Happens even with MT4 at peak load hours.
Fixed spreads are always on the higher side and uncomfortable for scalp trades.Brokers having fixed spreads will ban you from trading during news hours with too much movement, which are basically your time to make a killing.
Variables one are quite low at peak hours, but that might change drastically during news hours. They may even go to some unbelievable levels.
I would say it is a difficult question abt suggesting a particular broker. Everyone has their favorite. Mine is OandA.
I don’t quite understand this. I know that the broker makes money if I lose my account. Because I had deposited an amount, and if I lose it, he does not have to pay it back for me. And if I make profit, and I withrow it, the broker makes loss. But in this respect why does it matter if I made or lost my money by scalping or by long term trading?
On the other hand, I don’t think that there is a person who watches my orders and quickly tries to place reverse orders. I think it is done by a computer that is much faster than me. Also, simply placing a reverse order does not guarantee that the broker will win. It depends on where the price will go, and when I exit.
I use Oanda An ecn usually have a fixed spead and or a commision, sometimes a commision only. I use a LAN connection and Im pretty sure its not a slow connection its the java skipping. I dont scalp during news because Oanda might have a 10 pip spread and I have seen 35 pips on the E/U during news. I am fully aware of the so called fixed spread bandits.
The not all brokers make a profit when you get your account called. Some brokers trade agaisnt you others pawn off your trade to a bankor mutual fund. FXCM has people physically sitting at desks to trade against you. Oanada is automated to pawn off your trades. Most make profit on the spread and thats it. The brokers that keep it inhouse hedge agaisnt you.
You mean if you place a buy bet, they start selling lots of forex?
They would have to take the average of all their clients’ positions and even then they do not have enough percentage in the market to make a difference.
“market maker”. does the term sound familiar?
Saying FXCM trades against you would like saying that they are the major “markt makers” when you are trading with them. It is the only feasible way they can make money while trading against you. That being the case why would anyone trade with them when they can manipulate prices?? and also wat abt the trading volumes? is that too low with them?. I dont think so. I think this is all hogwash to say they open trades against you.
As for other query, how the brokers make money. Bokers are involved in some kind of tick manipulation, if the position is going against you they might move the price by 1-5 pips to hit the SL which might be missed otherwise.
This raises the risk of taking 5 pip scalp trades wherein you are operating on a very and i mean very tight sl.
That makes sense, that’s why I think that brokers take most of thier profit from scalpers, not from long term traders with rare orders and wide stoplosses. That’s why I don’t understand the rumors about brokers closing out scalpers.
FXCM is not the most honest in the business but they aim to make money only on the spread. Think of it like a bookie. He can pass it off, or go to his bookie and make the oppisite bet. with a little price difference.
I scalp with FXCM and I havent had my account closed…
Bucket shops are the only ones who will close you out for scalping because, you can quite often be profitable, and they are making money by taking the opposite side to your trades. So if you are profitable, they aren’t. If you get closed out for scalping, close your account and find a another broker.
I scalped with them for 2 months I recieved a email then a letter a week later saying I am opening and closing trades without waiting some amount of time. I think it was 90 sec or 3 min.
