Forex taxes?

Do you guy know anything about the tax you have to fill? Im still on the demo stage but i like to look into this whole tax deal before i really lock down on getting to know the trading platform.

i am fm singapore
as far as i know
there arent any taxes involve

what do you mean by fm? Are you saying that singapore doesnt charge tax to forex trading? The IRS is not a place to joke with :frowning:

I think he means that he is FROM singapore. I am also new to this and I would also like to know the answer to your question.

The only way to answer that is to talk to a tax expert. You cannot trust the net because you have no one to back you up in court and we don’t know where you are. The taxes are different in Germany then they are in France so how can we answer your question if we don’t know where you are? Someone might say that you don’t have to pay taxes, and that could be right for them but not you. And that is why you need to talk to some live face to face, so they can back you up in court.

There have been a lot of good threads on this topic. One feature of this site that I love is the search button at the top of the page. Just search for Taxes and you’ll have lots to read. Here are a few that deal with taxes in the US. The IRS website is also a good place to start if you don’t have the $$$ to pay an accountant.

That’s strange. I would think that searching for “tax” would be good enough but I guess not . We’ll I know searching for “taxes” works  .

It depends from trading platform with you use,

from what i read before, it seem like you have to list every exchange in the year to a form to show the profit or loss. Am i right?

I talked to Onada and they file profit/loss via 1099 INT to IRS for US customers. I believe CMFX does too but they wont send you 1099 to fill out the taxes. You going to have to do it via History Transactions.

I need to read more into this first before i can come to conclusion. Anyone who did it before have any inputs?

yes i am fm singapore

never been taxed before

that´s why so many multinationals prefer this country , low / taxes.

I tried several brokers from different countries and no taxes were charged so far.
