Further reading

Hey everyone,

hope all are enjoying the weekend. based on the indicators that i have used thus far i am most comfortable with moving averages. They make sense to me.

I want to read more about moving averages, what strategies can be implemented using them, what other indicators could be paired with them. Can anyone recommend any books or webpages i can use to continue my education?

Thanks

Hi…
I cant suggest any books, but there is a good thread here called the 3 ducks system. Uses 1 moving average in 3 time frames. Simply to set up and use, its been going here for years and still works

I also can’t really suggest books on this specific subject, but I agree entirely with Carlos’s post just above.

Given your interest in moving averages, there are two threads here I’d recommend to you as solid, sensible and potentially well worth your time …

I love moving averages —

CHF/JPY daily chart 12/22/11 - 4/22/13, with 40 moving averages (price line removed)

.

Is there really someone else in this world who also likes multiple MA bands and ribbons? And there’s me thinking I am alone in the universe since Guppies seem to have evaporated…

Even I like Guppies, and have a good feeling about them - and I don’t use indicators.

I know institutional traders who look at those.

(Besides which, I’m sure you could put a nice mount and frame round the chart Clint posted and put it in one of those little modern art galleries in London for quite a few hundred pounds. )

Here’s another more colourfully pleasing view of the US election (pre- and post-), a EURUSD 15min “commentary”!

From a trading perspective, it was a beautiful flipover…

I don’t doubt that Nigel Farage agrees with you (and he used to be a trader, himself).
