FXCM MT4 -- I see GBPUSD but where is USDGPB?

I am noticing a trend of GBPUSD going down right now and would like to issue a sell, however I recently got a free script from FXCM that will issue a buy order immediatly with a 20 pip st/tp.

I am using a demo account and wanted to play with this script.

Anyway, since its a buy-only app, I can’t issue a sell order. But it made me think, why do a sell order when I could just do a buy on the USDGBP and do the same thing?

Anyway, I looked through all of FXCM MT4’s charts and there is no USDGBP…

So, do brokers not list inversions of pairs, or is there a way to make FXCM MT4 show the inversion chart? I can’t find it in any of the help files.

because USD/GBP does not exist

As bobmanic says, USD/GBP doesn’t exist, neither will the inversions of any of the other pairs. So it therefore won’t be possible to display any of them - sorry!

Lol, I didn’t expect that. GBP and USD are major indexes, I would think someone can trade either or, it was just up to the broker.

You are trading either or as you put it. You either buy GBP which means your selling USD, or you sell GBP which means your buying USD.

if you were to plot the chart for USD/GBP it would be an inverse ‘relative’ image of GBP/USD.

You can trade either but it will always be GBP/USD. If the GBP is doing well then you buy, if the USD is doing good then you sell (both statements I’m sure that you’re aware of so apologies if it’s patronising) so you’re technically trading both. Shall we just put it down to semantics?

You’d think they’d have a “Quick Sell” script? Then your problem would be solved. …

…oh look, they do… Quick Sell | FXCM App Store

Haha thanks, I found it too. I was thinking the same thing after I realized some pairs don’t trade on both sides.

Actually pairs do trade on both sides…it’s the script that didn’t
