GB politics discussion thread

@peterma Not quite true… Many of those being arrested are just normal everyday Brits… Not the usual career criminal types that know how the system works… Most are pleading guilty in these fast-tracked hearings out of fear… Because they are being told if they don’t plead guilty they will face longer or harsher penalties…

What…?? Just like the troubles took 3 decades to blow over in Ireland… I don’t think so this time…

That is the apathetic view of your generation… The same apathy that got the UK into this mess in the first place… Mass illegal Immigration is changing the UK (and Europe) forever… It will be a totally different nation by the end of the decade…

It’s what Hitchens, Murray, Kisin and many other orators of critical thought were warning about all along… The Chickens are now here… Looking for somewhere to roost…!!!

Yes Director of Public Prosecutions - 2010 - I believe this was during the time that the “groming gangs” were being ignored - even thoughit it seems they were known about by all sections of the establishment. Now it may be of course that he was responslble for actions which eventually brought a few of them before the courts ? - If so I expect he will claim credit in due course.

With the full aid and abetment of the Civil Service - it seems ! - perhaps the swamp needs draining ?

Seems Lee Anderson (Ex deputy chairman [with thanks to @Heteroskedasticity ] of the “Conservatives” - Now chief Whip for Reform uk) has noticed and asked formal Questions in a letter to the Home Secretary. Letter is published in the link below.

Lee Anderson was not deputy leader. He was deputy “party chairman” for a while: sorry if I seem very pedantic  but the two things are honestly a million miles apart!

Thanks for that correction :sunglasses:

Nope - normal everyday Brits DO NOT attack ppl because of skin colour - the opposite I’d say…

Fear? - rioters cause fear - 2 of these rioters in Hull pled guilty because of the evidence so as to get sentence discount - where is the fear? - it’s with the 2 East Europeans inside the BMW being attacked by a gang of thugs armed with bricks/stones & what looks like an iron bar.

Was going to post a photo but decided they’ve got enough publicity on SM & News outlets already…

Mass immigration is taking Europe down a very dark road. I fear nothing significant will change in the UK until we see really serious prolonged unrest and Army involvement in perhaps Germany, the Netherlands, France. That will frighten the British government more than some brick-throwing in northern towns they have never even visited.

On which point, I’ll bet most Westminster politicans assume there is a harbour at Southport… well, it’s a port, isn’t it? Southport…?

I’ll bet they do! I did. There’s a pier there, isn’t there??

Last time I was there, yes, with a little railway along it.

It’s a charming Lancashire town.

As I posted above Pete… I’ll say it’s Bad… You’ll say it’s good… You just can’t help yourself…

The racial tension across the UK and Europe has very little to do with colour… That’s the simple man’s catch cry of current events… It’s a clash of cultures that is causing the unrest… You have mass immigration from countries were the rule of law and general behaviour is just so different from western world societies… Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrant’s flooding the UK with no time to assimilate into the local cultures…

Ok… So you can point to two cases out of one thousand plus arrests… You live in a reality vacuum…

@tommor Yep, agree… Unfortunately, as on display above… Many in the UK have their heads in the sand pretending it will just blow over… Having learnt absolutely nothing from history…

Starmer’s reaction to the rioters was to label them as " far right thugs", i.e. bigoted people with violent tendencies.

No doubt some were, but he also betrayed the fact that he has no intention of confronting mass immigration. After all, a Prime Minister does not negotiate with thugs, especially not a socialist Prime Minister with far right thugs.

His reaction very exactly parallels Gordon Browns’ when he was confronted by Gillan Duffy in 2010. To her face he dismissed her concerns by saying that there were as many British people living in Europe as there were immigrants in the UK - as if net migration equals no problem, nothing to see here, nothing to discuss. Of course, as we all heard, he went on to dismiss her as “just a bigoted woman”. He had no intention of confronting the mass immigration issue - Prime Minsters do not negotiate with racist bigots.

He lost the election and went away. But the argument didn’t, until the Brexit Referendum. But the question was dodged again by Cameron etc. so we are where we are. Where we are is with the least representational election in history, and the least popular government in history, and with yet another supercilious Prime Minister looking the other way. This will not end well.

@tommor Great post… Far Right is now the catch cry for anything done or said you don’t agree with…

And as I have posted many times in these political thread’s… The political pendulum has swung so far left in the last 2 decades that far right is were the centre of political discussion used to be…

I think @Falstaff pointed to the reality of what is happening across many relatively prosperous western nations in recent times… No countries indigenous populations want mass illegal immigration… Only out of touch Governments, smugglers and the immigrant’s themselves…

Very few citizens are opposed to the historical controlled and gradual legal immigration levels…

It’s one of the main reasons that the UK voted for BREXIT… The free movement of people across the EU borders was opposed by the average voting British citizens… And yet Governments of both ilk’s have forged ahead with this destructive ideology against the will of their sovereign citizens… It’s happening in Australia as well…

We let over 700k non-illegal immigrants into the country over the last 18 months and the Government can’t understand how a rental and housing crisis happened… It’s absolute lunacy…

It will not end well… The largest mass movement of people and cultures is currently underway… Maybe since the America’s were settled and that didn’t end well for the local inhabitants either… History always repeats…

When invaders enter a country or claim a country as theirs, it never ends well for the local inhabitants.

As we are discussing legal and illegal immigration, do we expect the same outcome as when invaders invade a country?

A bit of humor for a few of the humorless in this forum… German warship blasts Darth Vader theme in heart of London… No deeper message’:

Who says Germans have no sense of humor… Luckily… They didn’t do this in 1940…

Fascinating how @peterMA always takes the establishment view - :sunglasses:

@Falstaff, Not really… He just takes the the opposite view of what ever I post… He’s not in this thread (of late) to add informative content… He just looks for cheap shots when he can get them…

British citizen are the only ones who can fix whatever their problems are. Outsiders can’t help you regardless of their advice because they may give you self-serving advice. wish you guys luck :+1:

Every citizen must fix whatever problems they have in their own country. No outsider can help you regardless of their advice.

The solution to the problem won’t be the same as what outsiders have in mind, therefore outsiders will keep agitating the problem that could have been fixed or is on the verge of being fixed.

The answer to illegal immigration lies with the lure.

An illegal gets benefits + illegal work & he/she lives freely under the radar - no taxes, Nat Ins

Tackle this and why wld anyone risk their life on a dinghy only to get nothing?

UK Gov announcement published yesterday.
Home Secretary announces new measures to boost Britain’s border security - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Edit: I’m referring to illegals - net legal migration (inward minus outward) in 2023 was 685k - an ‘unusually high number’ according to the Migration Observatory press release.
