GBP/NZD moving slow today? Why?

Back again, right at the end of the week.
Lets see if it can finally break and hold above 2.40
PS: this is an entirely Kiwi move, for the Pound has not moved in the last three trading weeks from its hundred-pip consolidation zone (1.55 - 1.56)ā€¦
I know,

Three of THE most frustrating weeks of my trading lifeā€¦back to back!!.

Patience, patienceā€¦

Trading closed.
Have a nice weekend

Haha,

Looks just like meā€¦only I have a bit more grey hairā€¦and these last few weeks Iā€™ve frowned a bit moreā€¦and Iā€™ve rolled my eyes and sighed a bit more.

Question?

In the solitude and silence of a lone trader does a sigh make a sound if there is no one else there to hear it?.

Good morning Eddie, ShyFX, and all!

Indeed , plenty to sigh about, ShyFX, as GBP/NZD is trapped in a narrow range between 2.39 and about 2.3950, with two peaks (last night and during the hour of the London open) around 2.3975: the good news is that the 2.39 level seems to be holding, but there is not enough strength (yet) to push past 2.40ā€¦

Other Kiwi pairs are also loitering around familiar levels from last week, in a rather creepy way

Happy trading.

Pulling my hair outā€¦

Hey

What was your entry on this pair?.

Wondering if I can get in on this roller coaster!!. I feel left out.

(Donā€™t know how to do smileys on my phone so Iā€™ll just write WINK or

Pip, Iā€™ve been following this pair for the past month. It looks like a very solid resistance around 2.4000. Do you still think it can break past it?. Just asking.

I shorted at 2.3940 and locked in some profit. Now it looks like it is getting ready to go back up toward 2.4000.

Back in again, long at 2.37200, will set tp just under 2.4000
Seatbelts fastened, ready for the usual roller coaster wheeeeeeee!

ShyFx: my entry is the dotted white line near the top of my screenshotā€¦

Yohec: this past month (17th July - 17th August) has seen a healthy pause in this pairā€™s meteoric rise, but I am secure in my analysis that it will continue upwardsā€¦ It is just waiting for the ā€˜rightā€™ moment to do soā€¦ The summer ā€˜lullā€™, combined with the possible Fed rate hike in a month (17th September), make the perfect conditions for lack of conviction from either buyers or sellersā€¦ If you look at the pair on the weekly chart, you will see a wedge or traingle forming, with price compressing against that 2.40 levelā€¦ Eventually, this wedge or traingle will breakā€¦ My ā€˜betā€™, based on fundamentals, is that this break will be to the upsideā€¦

Huh huhā€¦

Go for it, eddie!

Hey,

Nice, I had a similar short last week when it hit the 2.39

Iā€™m looking at going long around 2.373ish if it looks like 2.371 will stay strong support area.

Good luck

Shy.

Sorry pip,

I missed that as Iā€™m on my phone and didnā€™t see the very top of the screenshot.

Stay strong!.

No problem!!

Well done on shorting the pair! The ā€˜long from 2.40ā€™ does require more patience, of courseā€¦ hence my previous reference to the Buddha

Important fundamentals out of the UK on tuesday, the pair may move then.

Possibly, although I do not see a CPI/PPI/RPI forecast as being particuarly strong from the various forecastsā€¦ It may be a dodo of an event (the dodo is an extinct bird)ā€¦

GBP/NZD is narrowing its range since the beginning of Augustā€¦ It is now back to 2.36, having dropped only four hundred pips from 2.40, whereas previously it had swung a full six hundred down to 2.34ā€¦

A break is inevitableā€¦The BoE and RBNZ rate decisions are looming closer (10th September), as is the Fedā€™s one (17th September), all of which have potential to move markets.

ā€¦the rocket is launched into orbit
