I’m George, live in England, 26 y/o and run my own busy gardening company. I’m looking for a complex challenge in learning how to trade in forex as a hobby and I’m excited to learn a skill that will be handy and possibly earn some side £ with profits!
I love good music, from software games, I’m a foodie and my secret dream is to ditch 9-5. I’m also a total newbie to forex!
Hi George,
Welcome to the forum. Yes - look at the Baby Pips education and start reading. I have had an absence from Forex since 2011 and am back to relearn what I forgot. One of the first things I did was to look up meet groups who trade Forex, found one with 950 members in Manchester, and signed up to attend their next meet.
Best of luck with it.
I’m studying atm in preschool and it’s fun. Find it fascinating how there’s people who actually trade in forex full time. But the topic itself is quite fascinating too!
What do you guys think about trading with low amounts based on other people’s signals? I found this guy on instagram who leads a small group of people and quite often posts about his trades. I messaged him and after talking on and off, it seems legit. he’s happy for me to join them (he wants me to deposit 200 usd in etoro first though to get his referral bonus) and says it’s a good thing to start making money with signals while I continue learning.
Now my brain is telling me let go until I know more, which is probably what I’m going to do but I admit it seems attractive to have something going already!
Any advice here is welcome
@ria_rose My fave english food is pizza! A.k.a. I don’t have one. Haha. But a good english breakfast is yummy! What’s your favourite food?
@MaydayJane@curiousguy I enjoy working with complex problems and my brain is good at working with patterns. I have a degree in business activities in foreign trade, so the framework of fx from an economical perspective is familiar to me and maybe that’s why it felt like a natural move (with the goal to earn some £ too, ofc!). But to answer u honestly, the need for stimulation is driving me, as I don’t feel like I’m getting enough of it in my job. What drove you guys towards fx trading ?
@Mondeoman thank you and what a good idea! I might as well do this when I know more about fx did you manage to do alot of networking this way?
I would say invest in learning yourself it will serve you better in the long-term especially if you want to make forex your day job.
The guys on Instagram are instagram traders… They use alot of tricks from renting cars and apartments for a week then shooting a year’s worth of content to having two trading accounts winners and loosers.
I come from an institutional background so I really recommend going through the process of learning as the ability to think critically is important as you can learn from mistakes. Plus they so many resources online information is everywhere!
Further how would you feel if the insta trader lost your money you would be like what happened… You would never know!
@jupo23 For the past 25 years we have been invested in residential property. At the peak in 2008 my wife and I attended many networking groups linked to property (as did an estimated 1 million other property investors) so yes, we relied heavily on focus group meetings like NLA and other private investor meetings. That is why I had the idea to seek out groups of like minded individuals in Forex trading. You tend to find that your family and work colleagues look at you as if you have lost your marbles if you strike up a conversation about Forex trading. So if you don’t want to be the bore of the party, look for a focus group, not your social group or family
HAHA. I think I watched a video on YT saying that most English foods are bland, and I just kinda wanted to see whether that’s true. Haha. I love seafood! Buttered, Baked, Fried, Stewed. You name it. lol
