Germany closes nuclear plants, Gazprom increase gas output - what next?

BERLIN — The German government on Monday announced plans to shut all of the nation’s nuclear power plants within the next 11 years, a sharp reversal for Chancellor Angela Merkel after the Japanese disaster at Fukushima caused an electoral backlash by voters opposed to reliance on nuclear energy.

Guys, in my humble opinion this might become a tendention. Many European countries might follow Germany’s example and replace nuclear power with gas, as a main national source of energy.

Russian “Gazprom”, at the same time claimed that it is going to increase the gas output up to 521 billion cubic meters by next year and 570 billion by 2014

Gazprom, which supplies a quarter of Europe’s gas, has benefited as Japan’s nuclear disaster and political unrest in North Africa and the Middle East boosted prices and demand for its fuel. Sales have been climbing at a faster pace this year than last, Chief Executive Officer Alexei Miller said in April.

As i think, Gazprom will really expand its “gas invasion” in Europe in the next 3-5 years and really raise not only its own value as a company on stock markets, but also raise Russian Rouble as a currency in exchange rates.

Also I’ve got a question to you, my friends, have you ever experienced in trading Russian Rouble? If yes, can you give any recommendations or remarks? How volatile is this currency?
