Hi
Does anybody know if GFT demo account has a time limitation (trial period)?
Also i would like to hear how people experience GFT’s platform Advantages/Disadvantages as comapared to MT4.
Thanks
Rafael
I like your question Rafael…because I am in a perfect position to answer it fully.
I have been using GFT since I started trading.
As you can see, I am a veteran trader on this forum.
The demo account does indeed have an expiry time (30 days I think) if you log in directly with GFT.
But I am in Perth, Australia, and I have other ideas.
Here is your solution…
Kinetic Securities of Sydney are an introducing broker for GFT.
Give them a call (log in to their website) and speak to Jay Pace.
Tell him, Tymen sent you and he should give you the demo indefinitely.
It is on the understanding, of course, that sooner or later you will log in to a live account.
The live account has a choice of banks for your funds.
I am happy to announce that I have a Wespac account and my funds went straight into the GFT Wespac account.
Could not be easier!!
Now as to the comparison.
I have also used MT4.
It is yesterday’s charting as far as I am concerned.
The GFT charting platform is so far ahead, it is not funny.
I will never use MT4 again.
The GFT platform is totally user friendly and you can do anything with it.
You can program your own indicators, and, surprise, it is compatible with MT4!!
You can also write an automatic trading program with GFT so that the program does the trading for you.
There is nothing the GFT program will not do.
Go to my thread…
http://forums.babypips.com/newbie-island/10812-joy-candlestick-trading-learning-experience.html
where I post charts from my demo program.
You will get an idea of what you can do!!
When I set up my candlestick thread, many readers switched from MT4 to GFT Dealbook.
They have never looked back.
I strongly recommend the program to you as one of the very best out there.
In addition, the service from GFT is absolutely excellent.
They are an honest broker.
Hi tymen1
Thank you for your thorough reply.
Indeed sounds promising.
I’ll make use of the advice you provided
Rafael
You are welcome Rafael.
I especially like helping people from Israel.
I have been using the GFT demo. Their customer service is excellent - they even extended my demo before I opened a real account. I am extremely happy with both the charts and platform.
i agree with tymen dealbook is light years ahead of mt4
Tymen,
This is my first post, however I have read through your candlestick method. Thank you brother for your dedication and willingness to give of your time and knowledge to others. I have traded for a couple years mainly using Heiken Ashi Smoothed as my focus indicator. I have had good success, and I’ve always used cadlestick trading because I believe it does show the “feel” of the market. I look forward to posting and reading along with you in the near future.
In Christ,
James
Hello everyone. Dealbook is great for trading, so clear, so userfriendly, I have not had the best experience with customer support, I mean it’s not bad but it’s not great.
You should give it a try you’re gonna love it.
Wow…you have a great avatar!!! …I find Dealbook360 a bit “heavy” for my laptop, I am live with GFT, but I use the dealbookweb…
That is great to know shana.p
Now I wish to make it clear that I am not rubbishing MT4 here.
It is a very popular program with attachment to several brokers.
Plus MT4 can be downloaded for free.
It is the most used program on this forum.
However, I do find it too limited for my own use.
Hi tymen
Can you please give an example which describes in what way do you find MT4 limited in comparision to DealBook?
Thanks
Rafael
I can think of many but 2 immediately come to mind from my candlesticks thread.
1 - I use 50 charts simultaneously in my Dealbook program.
Try that with MT4.
Further, the timeframes I use…20,25,30 mins…1 hour are not all available in MT4.
I understand only limited timeframes are available and a special programming effort has to be made to get more timeframes.
Look up the following posts made by Vulcan Classic in my first candlesticks thread…

#253 on page 26
#261 on page 27
#277 on page 28.
These posts say it all !!
2 - The starc band indicator I use is not available in MT4 without a lot of program fiddling.
Finally, read the posts

That should seal the deal !!
I know!!! haha Thanks!
Hi
Thank you everybody for replying to my question.
All replies have been really helpul and to the point (as always )
Rafael
Hi!
With MT4, it’s possible to DL a lot of indicators from… well, everywhere!
What if I, for exemple, want to put the shi_channel_true in the DealBook360 chart? Is that possible? About Barrie S/R?..
There’s so many indicators on the internet for MT4. So, what are my options if I want to uses them with the GFT chart?
Thanks.
Simple!!
Grab the indicator you see on the internet and simply write the program in CTL language for Dealbook.
CTL is a lot simpler than the code you use for MT4.
I have written a few indicators myself.
Further, the Dealbook chart studio has a totally comprehensive instruction manual and a guide.
As well as this there is a forum where you can post your programming and they will fix it for you with explanations.
It is thro this material that I have learnt to program code myself.
The Dealbook CTL is very similar to the code used in both the Metastock and Bullcharts programs used in stock trading.
Not only that, but you can also program the computer in CTL to do the trading automatically for you (trading robot).
I have seen some indicator codes both in MT4 and in CTL.
CTL is sheer simplicity compared with MT4 code and takes only a fraction of the lines needed.
Hi Tymen
What is the smallest tradable unit on GFT and what are their margin requirements?
Thanks
Rafael
The smallest unit I believe is a minilot.
But check with GFT because I could be wrong.
Simply go to their website.
I know the leverage offered goes up to 400:1
I have not checked to see what the lowest is.
I myself trade the very standard 100:1 (the most popular).
Hi Tymen
Just checked with them. You are right: one mini lot = 1 pip = ~ 1$
I had plans to open a practice account of 500$ for practice purposes with plans to expand to ~7000 if i see good performace on the 500$ account.
I understand that trading mini lots on 500$ is too much risk (especially for swing trading).
So it’s either putting more money or going with a broker such as oanda which allows smaller tradable units while having the GFT platform for analysis.
Am i getting this right?
Rafael
something to consider if opening an account with GFT. If you plan to trade mini, if you can start with $2500 it will give you a standard account, and you can still trade minilots. If you open a specified ‘mini’ you won’t have access to the standard features. This is what I did and am happy with the decision.
