Gold Dips Below $740

Gold losses accelerated to $739.50 lows in line with broad commodity market losses. The down turn across the commodity market complex is being driven by broad based dollar buying from investors and short term fund names. There was a brief respite from the recent commodity market sell-off in Asia as short term accounts booked profits amid firmer oil prices. However, gains have been used as an opportunity for further liquidation by long standing longs, leaving risk skewed to the downside. Gold is currently trading around $743.00 after experiencing a range of $739.50-$757.40 today.
