Hi There,
I have just signed to babypips.com and am looking forward to learning everything I can. I am 38 years old, born, living and working in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am a trained paramedic and changed career course very young when I realised that the work, unless you have a very strong mental disposition, would do things to me if I exposed myself to that for too long. Especially with our levels of crime and violence. (Although it has improved a bit over the last 15 years still unacceptably high).
For the last 18 years I have worked as a medical underwriter for an international reassurer and I specialise in products providing Life, disability, critical illness and income protection insurance.
I’m among the fortunate few that enjoys his job because I get to merge my interests in medical and financial matters as well as political and other events around the globe.
I am married to an amazing woman and mother of our 2 precious sons aged 9 and 7. She is a self-employed travel agent working incredibly hard from home and committing a lot of time to the children. I am so proud of and inspired by her.
I have had an interest in Forex for a long time but am no expert. A beginner in fact and that is how I found myself here in babypips.
I am hoping to learn as much as I can about Forex long before I start trading while asking tons of questions and then eventually contribute if my education and efforts prove profitable in the future.
I am a slow learner but do not forget the lessons once I have learnt them. The harder the lesson the better I learn.
My perceptions of Forex at present is that it can be very risky but with knowledge, education and experience the risk is often reduced. Just like the life insurance industry that I work in. Look at the Tsunami in Japan. Every industry gets its fingers well and truly burnt once in a while but we learn from catastrophe, pick up the pieces and move on a lot stronger than we were before.
