Just going through the beginner’s material and I would like some examples of who brokers might be in the FX space some actual provider names would be useful for reference purposes.

There are a lot of brokers out there, but it totally depends on the person & if what the broker offers is good enough for you!
Here a few reputable ones that I like personally: Fusion Markets, CedarFX and ICMarkets.
My recommendation would be to set up a demo on each of them first, and see which one you prefer.

Yes first we should spend some time trading on demo, for me it was 6 months I tried many brokers, made comparisons gathered information and made informed decision which broker I want to trade with. This is very important aspect which is often overlooked.
Some good options you can consider - fxview, pepperstone, and fxtm. But, make sure to DYOR before shortlisting any broker.
