Have heard good things about scion forex autotrader, has anyone tried it before?

No VPS. Home PC with a quality UPS

You must be very new to MT4 if you were not sure how to even check your trading historyā€¦

Trading mini lots correct?

:18: Donā€™t worry mary4xā€¦ weā€™re all here to help each other out!

Thanks for your input Baconā€¦ how about the rest of you? If your using a VPS, which one and how much? Or if your not using oneā€¦ just say PC.

In my opinion a VPS is the only way to trade, especially if running EAā€™s and trade copiers. It runs 24/7 without interruptions. For the past 5 years I have used SWVPS. The pricing is similar to HostingSource.

Does anyone have a myfxbook they can post for closed trade comparisons?

I totally agree with that statement pipmenow! I also donā€™t want to be running my PC 24/5! Your Internet can go down at any moment like mine did just a couple of weeks ago. When your trading, especially with standard lots with real money, the only option is having a reliable VPS on your side.

This would be great if it was available. So we could average out the amount of pips that the Scion Forex AutoTrader delivers on a monthly basis. Like the past 12 months. Having complete confidence with an EA is so important and verifiable past history achieves this.

The Scion Forex website has a bunch of graphs, but it would be nice to see some actual numbers on their part. But granted, independent myfxbook accounts would be more ideal.

Hereā€™s their Myfxbook page: Scion Forex Performance System by scionforex | Myfxbook

It seems to make profit, but I wouldnā€™t pay to use software that makes 3.65% a month with 70.78% drawdown :20:

I use the VPS of CNS (commercialnetworkservices), it is expensive (about 35$) but I like the 2FA protection, I like the secutiry that this give meā€¦

5astelija, I saw that myfxbook before to join Scion, that account finished in May 2013, I asked for that to Scion, they told to me that his management and system has changed since then and it is very different now, and it seems really different, I hope soā€¦

Oh, I didnā€™t notice they donā€™t update the Myfxbook page anymoreā€¦ Thatā€™s kinda strange, why donā€™t they show their overall performance?

Also, the equity graph in their Myfxbook page is very different than the graphs on the Scion website :19:

Thanks, bbatis. I appreciate that. Yes, Iā€™m trading minilots.

I manually traded my FXCM account on Friday for a gain of 33 pips on GBPJPY and 25 pips on GBPCAD. Iā€™m wondering if there might be a better EA out there somewhere.

Yeahā€¦ that myfxbook account was when they were a signal service. They didnā€™t introduce the AutoTrader until late 2013 I believe.

In studying the Forex market for over a year and a half, Iā€™ve come across all those big name EAā€™s that weā€™re all familiar with on FPA. I never seriously considered trying any of them out because of all the mixed reviews. While the SFA has very few reviews, I havenā€™t read one negative review about it, which is a good sign.

Many newcomers in Forex get caught-up in all those hyped-up offers about making 100+ pips a day, 2000+ pips a month. Iā€™ve tried many of those Clickbank products with their lagging indicators and BS methods and systems and none of them produced consistently.

Iā€™m more than happy in going with a strategy that produces a few hundred pips on a monthly basis and protects my account by using safe money management. But thatā€™s just me.

When pip gains rise, risk will always rise tooā€¦ Short time gambling is not so hard if youre lucky
I am actually testing my EA right now, and it would give about a % per day without a risk of blowing up.
Hereā€™s the thread: 301 Moved Permanently

Absolutely agree. But if Iā€™m tying up $2000 in a brokerā€™s account to use an EA thatā€™s winning/losing $10-$20 a month, wellā€¦

So far, Iā€™m a few dollars under water. Weā€™ll see what the next couple of weeks will bring.

The SFA has been in a bit of a slump this monthā€¦ Around -42 pips so far. One good trade can wipe that out.

Iā€™'ve posted my results before on what the AutoTrader has done since the first week of August.

+219 pips in August
+257 pips in September
-42 pips so far in October

476 - 42 = +434 pips so far. I havenā€™t tallied up the numbers lately, but I believe the winning rate is still around 65% with a good R/R ratio. Granted the trades havenā€™t been hitting their targets lately, but that is where the safe money management strategy comes in. Better a small win than a big loss.

From what Iā€™ve seen with those over-hyped robots,.they donā€™t have much of a safe money management strategy and folks end up blowing out their accounts. No thank you.

I never count pips, I always look just monthly equity growth in percents. 50-100 percents per month consistently would be just a dreamā€¦ and I donā€™t care if it comes from 5000 pips or just 50.

Hey Guys, Iā€™ve been following this thread for a while now and really like the sentiment of this EA and how is it not a ā€œglamorousā€ one whereby you are promised millions and then delivered none. The general tone of this EA is ā€œsteady as she goesā€. Everyone who uses it seems really balanced too, no crazy hype.

I do have a question to anyone using this EA: Do any of you use a Virtual Private Server? Or do you have a dedicated computer that you just leave on all the time so that the EA can take trades during the week? If/when I do get this up and running, I was thinking of getting a separate small computer simply to keep this EA running. Any input would appreciated. Cheers!

Hi, Godspeed

Bbus is using CNS (Commercialnetworkservices) for $35/month. Pipmenow uses SWVPS, around $10/month I think. Bbatis and I are using HostingSource.com ($10 month). Scion suggested HostingSource as a good VPS. BaconMakesItBetter says he uses a home PC with a quality UPS.
