Have heard good things about scion forex autotrader, has anyone tried it before?

[QUOTE=bbatis;662247]@ mary4x:

Since you and I have the same broker (Tallinex) and VPS (HostingSource), I’m curious to know how many pips that EURUSD netted for you?

My Tallinex account has somehow been closed. I’ve been trying to find out from VPS and Scion why that is. They both say to contact the other. Now I’ll try reaching Tallinex. I’m sure they’ll say it’s not coming from them…

@ bbus: I do have the ECN-Micro which averages 2 pips spread, which I forgot all about. :rolleyes: So that makes sense. But I thought there had been a few past trades where the spread wouldn’t have been a factor in the difference from what I’ve been getting compared to others.

But it’s very possible I could be wrong about this. I will just monitor my trades more closely and see what differences there are, if any, compared with other traders.

@ pip2pips: I take it you have the ECN-Pro account that averages only 0.5 pips spread on the EURUSD. So factor in that I’m paying 1.5 more pips on the spread than you are, that would make my total +2.7 pips. So that 2/10ths of a pip difference between my trade and your trade can be contributed to execution speed, which is normal. Not a big deal at all. :slight_smile:

bbatis, you are correct I am using this EA on a ECN-Pro account and overlooked that you are not, so yes this make total sense.

I am liking this thread and th ea seems to have potential. Can i ask does everyone hear still manual trade? as good as this ea is it doesn’t seem to beat maunal trading. Don’t get me wrong i’m live test my own ea atm but just wanted to see if you guys are solely auto trading?

Manual trading? What’s that? LOL!

Yes, I’ve been taking some trades manually on an FXCM account. While I don’t expect an EA (or at least this EA) to be as profitable as a decently-run manual account, I had hoped to get away from the computer and still realize a little return. This is my first try with an EA. I’m probably going to close it after Friday. I’ve been looking into signal services and there are some good ideas to consider. That would require some screen time, of course, but it might speed up the trading process enough to make it okay.

Today 2 trades:

AUDUSD Sell Stop -> cancelled
EURJPY Sell -> loss of 30 pips

Net result: -30 Pips

October is doing hard, a few trades and not good…

Yes, same result here bbus. After hitting the stop loss at 136.60, it continued to 136.78 and then took a dive in the desired direction. :frowning:

My results for October so far is -73 pips. So after 2 1/2 months… +476 pips - 73 pips = +403 pips. So SF is still keeping to their motto of “Guaranteed account growth overtime.”

Sure would be nice and reassuring to hear from some SFA users who have been using the EA for the past year and see exactly what their overall results are. :slight_smile:

Nonetheless, I’m going to stay the course with this EA and see what the long term results are. :33:

I got the AUDUSD cancelled trade; however, I didn’t get the EURJPY Sell trade. I lucked out but begs the question as to why.

Other time that different users has different trades, I don’t like that…

Agreed. I would like others on this thread to chime in to see whether they got the same trades.
October has not been a good month and with fewer trades. I do understand SF strict criteria prior to executing the trades, but I had hope these few trades to be in profit.

Yes, this is of concern to say the least. This issue needs to be addressed and troubleshooted with Scion Forex support to try to find out the source of this problem. I strongly suggest that you contact SF pip2pips, which I imagine you plan on doing, and find out why this is occurring and get back with us.

Wish I could help too. VCR/MT4 still having problems. I haven’t had any notice from Tallinex since I think 10/13.

Scion must be getting hundreds of calls.

All in all, this EA has continued to tread water, not really going anywhere, up or down.
I have been testing some things and will be going back to trading manually in the future.
I found one really excellent thread on Forex Factory that I will be using and another one (also on FF) that I will be testing.
I will certainly let this EA run, to the end of the free trial anyway, and make an evaluation then. As I still have a full time job, I was hoping that this EA would fill in those times when I couldn’t trade and get me closer to leaving my job, but so far it doesn’t seem likely.

As for today’s trades: I didn’t get any, including the EURJPY loser. Spread protection and cheaters protection:ON.

Don’t forget, this is not EA as we are used to see, this EA are real traders behind it trading, their EA is just a tool to bring their live manual trades to our account in real time automatically. So there are two different issues - one is technical with 100% triggering trades through the EA and another issue is just their live trading. :wink:

Oh, I didn’t know that, Zokimaster. Thanks.

You can read more about it here:
How We Grow Accounts

I will copy from their website their sentence: “We will be manually trading your account through the EA that will be installed on your PC.”

If they are manually trading our accounts I wonder why they’re doing so poorly. Looking around Forex Factory, a lot of people are doing okay.

Good point Zokimaster! This EA robot is different from the rest, as it is monitored by live traders, compared to all of those other EA robots that just blindly trade according to it’s programming and presets.
