Similar to a software engineer, but with a high level view of the “solution”.

And how are you finding the transition into algo trading so far?

No issues so far. I’ve actually been using algos for some time. Recently with QuantConnect.

But I want to take a more aggressive approach now…

Yes, correct. I can code my own trading bots (in Java) using the API.

So what’s the biggest advantage of coding EAs? Is it like being able to have it running 24/7 if you want? Different order execution types?

It fits my personality. I can’t trade manually. And the EA does it for me.

Yes.

I can define my own trading rules, but I always start to freestyle when trading manually.
