New here, just wanted to see if some clever person could shed some light on this…
I have an EA, back test results are good… I’m having a problem with it though, I’m trying to run it on a demo account, with fixed spreads. For example, last night it made one trade. However when I then back tested it for the last night it should have made 3.
Any idea why this is?
Backtesting isnt a reliable reflection of what would have happened. For instance, if RSI closed just below 80 and went back down, backtesting would not count that as touching the 80 mark.
But in reality, it might have touched it and come back down, giving a false result. Thats one of many reasons you shouldn’t put your faith in backtesting.
If you made the EA yourself and know what it entails. Look back manually and see if it would have opened or not.
