Economical Depression
Amid unrelenting pessimism about the health of the global economy and world governments ability to solve the financial crisis, stocks swung wildly on Friday, with the Dow Jones industrial average down 376 points, or 4.4 percent, by midday in New York, continuing this weeks aggressive sell-off.
Fear and greed, fear and greed. People are happy to part of a financial community and reap dividends when things are going good, but when things tighten up, screw everyone else; me, me, me. Let the world crash, just give my individual piece.
Well guess what, if everyone takes away their little piece, nobodies little peice is going to worth anything.
Not even the US banking bailout, which was passed last Friday, and the concerted effort of central banks worldwide to cut interest rates could stop the rot. Financial stocks continued to get pummeled, as governments worldwide were forced to step in to rescue stricken banks and everyone has been left asking when and where will it all end?
Fine, everyone sell their investments at a huge loss. To me it’s like stocks on sale. The Wall St. Clearance sale, end of season close out. 40-60% off regular prices. Although, I’m going to wait for red tag prices before I go shopping.
ha ha ha ha ha ha , save me a place in the queue before the shops open… Oxford Circus end of the season… Boxing Day? ha ha ha nice one edacsac, dont miss out the clearance.
Martin Slaney, the head of derivatives at financial spread betting company GFT, said markets were suffering “vicious sell-offs”.
“What we are witnessing is mass selling on a global scale due to a combination of sheer panic and fear, combined with complete uncertainty over the future of the world’s major economies,” Slaney said. "Investors are effectively pricing in the possibility of a global depression
Exactly! Like the great Warren Buffet said:
“We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.”
