I have been trying to put to work like HT move such as bullish engulfing and bearish engulfing pattern however once it formed either bearish or bullish engulfing candlestick on the LT its too late to enter the trade either that pattern once formed on HT and trading session already finished its confused a lot or need to enter post session or pre session which one is better only
Entering trades solely based on higher timeframe (HT) moves like bullish or bearish engulfing patterns can be late. Consider combining HT signals with intraday setups for timely entries. Evaluate pre- and post-session opportunities based on your strategy’s effectiveness and market conditions.
Get the direction from the higher time-frame. Then go to the lower time-frame for entry pattern.
Do you mean HT on Monthly or Weekly?
It doesn’t matter.
Most currency charts are fractal, most of the time.
Look at it this way: if you examined a pair of charts of the same currency-pair, higher-timeframe and lower time-frame, and you were told that they were maybe 10-minute and 30-minute charts, or maybe 1-hour and 3-hour charts, or maybe 8-hour and 1-day charts, or maybe 1-day and 3-day charts, you wouldn’t be able to tell which from looking just at the bars on the charts (without looking at the numbers on the axis). This is the key point to understand. The underlying principle is exactly the same in all cases.
What matters is what Tommor explained, just above: the idea is to get the directional bias from the higher timeframe(s) and the entry from the lower/lowest one.
It’s down to the strategy, which means you have the choice. The higher time-frame you use should be several times greater than the lower - more than 2x but need not be as great as 100x. The daily time-frame is important in it’s own right so worth paying attention to but probably not very relevant if your trades come off the 1-minute. Test and demo trade to be sure.
While doing this, ask yourself why you need to use two time-frames.
Thanks for your response. What about drawing support and resistance line, would you recommend a particular Time Frame for taking good support and resistance line?
