How can I put what I learn into practice?

Can anyone give me some tips and advice on how I can take what I have learned and practice it on the real market? (on a demo account ofcourse)

As I am very good with the theory of what I have learned and i know a lot of the theory off by heart however I forget it all and find it hard to do anything when faced with a blank chart(obviously with candles on it). I have to look at other people’s trade setups and ideas and observe what happens. Any other activities I can do to apply my knowledge in the real markets? Should I be writing down what I observe? Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

Hey I’m new like you  but one way I can say how I put what I’ve learn into practice I started off with what indicators that I found easy to use and that sat well with me and I would use them on the charts to see if I can pick up trends , also while using the indicator I would guess where I think the trend would go up or down and then further use the indicator to prove my answer and if I’m wrong I will go back and re studying the candlesticks and what actually happening why my answer was off or if you got it right well done lol . So start there I would say xx and get familiar with the charts and indicator and then when confident place a demo trade with what you have used and tested your self with . Once you gain momentum with it you will automatically know what you want to do next and where you would like to go will your potential trading plan from there. Hope that helps Good luck

It is not just you. I think it happens to many of us. I faced the same issue when I started off, and it took me a while to really convert theory into strategies. And that is the reason why demo accounts exist. Try Try Try and you will succeed. It is just a matter of time. Start with using one strategy a day. If it works in your favour, use it again the next day, so that you get a hold of it.

generally we always emphasis on learning only but without regular level of practicing the result of trading can be useless . so should focus on learning and practicing at the same time.

When you go live, you can maintain a trading journal to enter information about all your trades.

Demo accounts are a great help to those who wish to practice what they have learnt. After demo trading, I don’t think that traders should directly make big investments in the market. Start small and see what impact the market has on your investments. This will give you an idea about when you should increase your investments.
