It seems as if I made my first small profit of $77 in trading today. However, I wanted to “bid” when I was ready to get out of my trade, however I had no idea how to do so. I have attached a screen shot, and was hoping somebody could help me out on how to do this. Thanks. :o
you dont “bid” or “ask” on that platform when you wish to exit
simply double click on the open order which will bring up an “order ticket” and hit the “close” button — that sells or (if short) covers your trade.
BUT, i noticed you have a 100K account which i will assume is a DEMO.
PLEASE be fair to yourself and get rid of that one and open another demo with ONLY THE AMOUNT YOU WILL ACTUALLY HAVE WHEN YOU GO REAL !
$100K will give you such a margin cushion and such abilities THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE FOR A LONG TIME, that it is a true injustice to yourself, and will end up simply deluding you into thinking that forex is SO SIMPLE !
It AINT simple, as an overwhelming majority find out every day, and i would rather you be around for a while then lying broken and bleeding in some gutter someplace

Thanks for the info. Do you know how I can change it in the options so I can play with the actual amount that I’ll have ($1,000). I do want this demo to be as realistic as possible without sugar coating it.
unfortunately, you cannot alter it once its done
there are two ways to alter it — the first is to download a NEW demo and on the bottom right, when you first are downloading, there will be a box with the dollar amount in it — you can backspace over it and enter the correct amount.
the harder way is to enter a huge number of trades in the WRONG direction, but with newb luck, youll probably MAKE a few million, so the first method is prob the best.
thanks for following the advice — it will serve you VERY well in the future.
and remember, if you crash and burn in the demo, you just get another and take note of what you did wrong, which is the BEST learning there is !
FEW are the people who just go out and make money, although they exist !
enjoy and trade well

if you goto file/open a new account, you will get this …
you’ll be able to change the deposit amount.
MP, thanks for all your help. Yes, I was able to change it just the way the poster above mentioned, after I made my post of asking how. I’m thinking of making a trading log for the next 3 months so I can keep track of my profits/losses on the Demo.
a log is considered a VERY VERY good way — pay MUCH attention to any losses, and the reasons for them, as they are WAY more important than your wins !
after that, if you can figure how to get your daily winnings delivered thru the floppy port youll become an urban hero to many of us !
enjoy and trade well

I would like to add… yes, you can close the open trade by opening the trade and hitting close. But, if price is moving fast you could very well get some sort of, “requote,” or, “offquote,” message and not be able to close, even if you try several times in a row. This is because when you hit close, the order becomes a market order which says, “close at this price and this price only.” If that price isn’t thier by the time your market order hits the server you’ll get some sort of reqoute message.
To avoid this set a TP. This is recorded on the server and the trade should close at profit as soon as the TP is hit. Or, reset your SL to postive over and over again (when and if a trade goes postive) and don’t set a TP, so that you have chance of catching a real nice move and at the same time locking in some small profit.
