Right now every time I open MT4 it opens up the E/U, G/U, U/C, and U/J charts (H4) all shrunk down and stuff for no reason.
I keep deleting them, but it’s annoying that they just start up every time. How do I get the software to stop doing this?

Start MT4, close all the windows. Goto file-> profiles -> save profile -> name it “default” -> overwrite. This should do the trick. If you want certain charts to open up every time then open them and do the same thing. Let me know if this works.
Thanks…maybe you can help me with something else.
MT4 seems to be able to create files that are “hidden” even though I’ve got windows set to show all hidden files. And example of this is whenever I save a template without specifying a different directory. The template doesn’t show up in the templates folder of the MT4 installation even though I can open up a chart and apply the template to it…so it’s saved somewhere. If I save the same template into My Documents and then copy it into the templates directory for the MT4 installation I can find the template file in the template folder as well as use it to apply to a chart. How can I find these hidden files?
The reason I’m really trying to figure this out is because my price feed is corrupted. It stops at Jan 13 2012 @ 16:07 and doesn’t pick up for months. I thought I’d try to recreate the missing data by downloading Tick Data from Integral. To convert it though, I had to use an MT4 script. I couldn’t find the new FXT or HST files when I was done though. Even searching for “fxt” turned up nothing. So I went to run the program again and it said I couldn’t because the FXT file already exists! So it’s out there hiding somehow…just like the template files that MT4 creates. How do I find these?
I’m using Windows 7 by the way.
Oh…and I closed those windows and saved the new blank screen as “default” and when I open MT4 up again…it still pops up those windows.
I think it saves to this folder:
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\your metatrader folder\
I don’t know why it does this but yes it’s very annoying. Maybe try to copy the profiles folder to the one in C:\program files\metatrader too. For me whatever the last configuration is on my mt4 it opens to the same one. So if I close with no windows it opens with no windows. Maybe someone else can help.
