seems like there are alot of you that are going to start to know how it feels to lose your money! I know If I first started in Forex, I would have went broke very fast. Iā€™ve been trading for 4 yrs now, trading stocks and options. Iā€™ve done it for a living for sometime now and have just begun to be profitable last year. Just started trading forex last week. I have no debt, all liquid. Iā€™m 22

My bones, my muscles, my brain, my skinā€¦ all 20 years oldā€¦ it freaks me when i say it like that sometimes.

With health on my side, i should be trading for at least another 50 years

By then i shud be rich enough to hit SELL/BUY at home and take ur stop losses out on the other side of the world :stuck_out_tongue:

So if youā€™re learning to trade around the year 2057 and youā€™re wondering why u get stopped out even tho ur TA is dead onā€¦ITS meā€¦meeeeeeeeee muahahahaha lol

I like Colinā€™s idea so Iā€™ll say Iā€™m 34 years old. Iā€™m a firefighter. Had a bad accident recently. Everything turned out alright but it really did open my eyes to the necessity of making sure I am financially secure should I suffer another major accident and not be able to perform as a firefighter.

Have been learning about this trading game for 18 months now and am making good progress. Hope to be consistantly profitable within another 18 months.

Cheers,
PKFFW

hey iā€™m 46 and just started in forex. wish i would have know about forex 20 years ago, i be out of the working rat race & be my own boss.hope it comes soon. still trading just demo will trade real money in the next 2 mo.

Iļæ½ve just turned 30 and have been in the FX market for 4 years and before that other Fixed Income markets. Always working for banks but never trading my own book and Iļæ½m starting to think I want to give it a try.
Bon chance boys and girls:)

Iā€™m 42, coming to FX a bit late in life. but like so many things in the ā€œexpertā€ sectors, the big boys have been playing it up for so long and so hard that it frightens all but the most hardy/foolhardy/rich away. I only recently started seriously searching for learning material and found my way here after loking at lots of ā€œeasy forex schemesā€ that did not seem to me to be as easy as they claim!

Trading an under funded demo account proved this very quickly indeed.

Iā€™m optimistic about becoming a trader, but I will trade demos untill Iā€™m sure I have a system and my head sorted for losing as well as winning. 4 small losses on my ā€œunder fundedā€ account left me with 30% drawdown and not understanding why it was going downhill so rapidly. After all I never got a margin call, I did the sums and set realistic stops, I just got stopped out a few times, sometimes a spike and sometimes a real reversal!!

I think it may be easier for yung uns to deal with that, you havenā€™t got the 25 years indoctrination to the "employee mindset " to deal with!! I should have looked at this years ago properly, Iā€™ve never risen very far as an employee - I always end up telling employer where to get off, a fairly career limiting path!!

Good luck to everyone - young or old!!

Hey everybody im 32 almost 33. I am trying to learn as much as humanly possible about forex. I have a real account and i trade micro lots. But I am persistant and I know soon ill be trading real money.
Thanks, John

Forty one but ageing very quickly now after opening a live account!!!

Very interesting thread. Iā€™m almost 40.

I have been an investor in various markets since 18. My trading experiences range from commodities to muni bonds to real estate. I havenā€™t had a real job in years. (TopGun would appreciate my last job title: Target for Middle Management Hostility. )

I have kept an eye on 4x for several years. Only in the past few years has there been sufficient regulation in place to ā€œlegitimizeā€ the markets for retail investors. 4x trading should not be your only source of current income. If you have never traded anything before in your life, then you have chosen a very difficult instrument with which to start. I donā€™t want to discourage anyone. Just suggesting that itā€™s best to go slow at first. Sorry about the rambleā€¦

Whaaaatttupppp!!!

Just joined BabyPips last week. Great Site!

Iā€™m 27 and have been trading for 6 years! Look out for my posts.

Thanks

Iā€™m 17 and started learning 4x when I was 16.

Hi All,

I am 36. Started working for Big Accounting firm after shool and survived for three years in the ā€œSweat Shop.ā€ Then, I started my own business and sold it after three years for a good sum that I could retire with. Refused to give my money to Mutual Funds and Wall Street and started trading everything (equities, options, futures, commidities) except FOREX. I trade PT just to manage my money and earn some returns and also have another small business that I ran.

FX freaked the hell out of me because of the absence of central market or regulatory agency. Just getting into it as a toddler.

Cheers:D

as of tomorrowā€¦twenty foe!!
