How old are you

Im 23 turning 24 come December, been trading the forex for 2 1/2 years, Im down $900 from the time i went live, but its a lot better then giving it away to those high yield investment program that i was doing good at until Scampay killed everything. Now i graduated and starting my master in MIS, so i need to succeed fast in forex so i can pay the $40000 in loans and retire by the time i hit 39. thats my dream so to be reality.

Hi!
I donā€™t think that success is a matter of age, but of an attitude, whether you trade for a living of just to spnd time and get some extra penny.

Iā€™m 24, trade forex for already a year.

Good trading for everybody!

Hey I just turned 15 and iā€™ve been trading on a demo account for 1 and a half months now and going live soon. Iā€™ve been trading stocks for a year with a few thousand. I just spend a lot of time trading making money with my pay cheques from McDonalds haha. Iā€™d like to talk to anyone who wants to share what they do and talk on msn while trading EUR/USD and USD/JPY to see how other people trade.

In response to TopGunsā€™ post. Iā€™m 25 and know exactly what you are on about.

I just turned 23 and Iā€™m in the middle of a career crisis already. Basically, I have completed most of a degree I donā€™t want to finish because itā€™s going to get me a mind numbingly boring, non-flexible job I wonā€™t enjoy.

Iā€™m working for my parents business and teaching myself how to trade currency while I wait until mid next year to start another degree. Maybe.

My father has never worked for anyone but himself, and I guess thatā€™s what Iā€™m aiming for, too. I have friends who are engineers and lawyers, who work 12 hour days with very few holidays - doing stuff their employer bills clients 10x their hourly pay for. That doesnā€™t appeal to me at all - I want to be able to go away for the week, I want to be able to hit the golf course at least once a week, I want to be able to work from anywhere with my laptop and internet connection, I want to have relative freedom of working hours to work around my sleep problems. Forex fits the bill nicely, but I know itā€™s going to be a long and rocky road.

My short term goal is to trade while I travel around South East Asia on the cheap!

That is the ultimate goal except Iā€™d want to golf twice a week and buy a 50k membership in Florida somewhere  . In the meantime it is great taking advantage of my employers time to learn FX. I trade & read all day to improve my trading while waiting for computer problems to occur. I hope none of my employers read this

Sorry for this late reply. I missed your post!

I have been trading with a small $400 account instead of a demo for about 8 months and I am finally going from B/E to making a profit and being more consistent. I plan on doing this for the rest and the year before going live in 2008. Unfortunately I donā€™t have the cash to go live so I am thinking of borrowing from my 401k or taking a loan to trade with. I figure I would pay the loan back with the same money I borrowed, plus collect interest from my unused FX funds in my account, plus earning profits from my year of patience & practicing. On the other hand if I borrowed from my 401k I would just pay myself the money & interest back so it would be a win/win situation. I could never go FT with this until atleast a full year or two of consistent profits and saved up funds to support my family. Insurance & schooling are not cheap, and neither are my golf habits!!

P.S: For the skeptical people out there I know I can also lose $$$ but I cannot even consider that option because this is a buisness that I have been planning to start for years, hence all the preparation

Iā€™m happy with my $1000 membership at the club thatā€™s about a two minute drive away  Since Iā€™m technically still a student, itā€™s $500 a year - very cheap. We get koalas and echidnas and all sorts of other cool animals up there too

Waiting for computer problems to occurā€¦ sounds like my job at the moment!

I am 54, therefore an old geyser. I am a retired highschool teacher (maths, physics, chemistry).

I live here in Western Australia (the best country in the world to live in) and the sea here is beautiful.

I still love going windsurfing.

Regards, Tymen Wortel, Perth, Western Australia.
