Have you think that your EA can be edited by brokers through meta update??
Do you agree with my opinion that EA can be edited or manipulated by brokers??
I guess that the only way t manipulate the EA work in metatrader is only through metatrader update…
So how to protect the metatrader??
Okay, I’ll bite… Just exactly HOW could a broker tamper with your EA?
A broker can probably manipulate your trade entry point, or possibly slip your stops. But there’s no reputable brokers out there that would do that. I get slipped both ways. Sometimes it works out in my favor, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s a wash in the end.
Furthermore, what makes you think a broker would manipulate your EA to steal your $50 account? Or your ten cent pips? Do you honestly think that is worth millions of dollars in fines if they get caught?
I’m an ex software developer. It would be easy enough for meta trader to include code to upload EA source code. They already have an FTP facility built in to upload statements, so technically, it’s very easy.
However, there’s no need for them to go to such ridiculous lengths. Most clients are going to lose their accounts even without manipulation. It would be pointless for anyone to risk their business just to get their hands on a bunch of EAs, some of which will be profitable only because they are suited to current market conditions, or profitable just by chance.
Furthermore, Meta trader run annual competitions where developers willingly upload the source code to their EAs, so there’s no need to steal this stuff, people give it away for free.
I’m inclined to believe that brokers might possibly analyze their client accounts, and they might use that information for front running, or to manage short term risk. It wouldn’t surprise me if employees within some of these unregulated firms where mirroring the trades of profitable clients.
there’s enough scope for manipulation, without going to ridiculous extremes, all it would take is one whistleblower and meta quotes would be history, and why would they want to become a punter when they own the casino ?
