I don't understand the Alerts I get sent in Tradingview! Please help

New to forex trading - have set up a demo account and having playing with some different strategies.
I’ve recently enabled some different alerts in tradingview, which have triggered, but i’m struggling to understand what they are actually telling me to do! (or have they done something on my behalf…?)

First one I received for the ‘greedy strategy’ is below:
“Greedy Strategy (10, 10, 5): order sell @ 1 filled on GBPUSD. New strategy position is -1”

Then a second one a few hours later:
“Greedy Strategy (10, 10, 5): order buy @ 1 filled on GBPUSD. New strategy position is 0”

Any help explain what these actually mean would be greatly appreciated

I’ll start by saying I don’t use TradingView, so what I’m suggesting might be completely off.

From the looks of it, they are notifications of orders placed on your behalf. I’m assuming you set a strategy to go with the name Greedy Strategy.

The first one is saying that it opened a sell position of 1 lot on the GBP/USD symbol based on the strategy. So your position of -1 means you’ve sold 1 lot.

The second one is closing the same trade, buying back the lot to close, and ending up with a position of 0.

That’s what I’d assume based on the information given at least. :thinking:
