So after finishing babypips school I went to metatrader4.com to start demo trading. I’ve had a few, um, issues since then.
First off, while I downloaded the installer for MT4, it was MT5 that actually got installed. OK, fine, whatever. I just want to demo trade and hone my skills. I’ll use MT5.
As part of the set up process it asked me if I wanted to set up a demo account. I said yes, and created an account at AMPGlobalClearing-Demo-CQG. No other options are given.
Now when I open MT5 I get quotes & tick charts, but all my historical charts (5 minute, 4 hour, whatever) are all at least 30 days old. I click on “Log into Trade Account” under File, I go to a chart, right click and choose “Refresh.” Still nothing newer than 30 days old.
Is this common, or am I special? And of course I mean “special” in the potato way.
Should I just to to some other broker and create a demo account there?
