Incorrect trading symbol for chart?

Just 2 days ago I was able to trade properly on my IFCMarkets Demo account for Metatrader 4, but today when I attempt to set a pending order, the default Symbol is only allowing me to trade to 2 decimal places. I have tried all available symbols and none of them are allowing me to trade properly.

This symbol “#L-BARC, Barclays PLC” is appearing as the default on GBPUSD, EURUSD, and EURGBP.

Can you please help me resolve this?

Have you tried, closing the chart

Opening the Market Watch tab

Selecting the chart again and opening it

beyond this

go to your installation folder
go to your PROFILES folder
create a new profile… call it JNGH or whatever

Open MT-4 again,
Select that new profile
Add a New chart to it from Market Watch, say EUR USD for arguments sake

does it still do it ?

it shouldn’t , but if it does

Re install MT-4 and repeat the process
does it still do it ?

let me know

Thank you for your reply Martin.

I tried all that you suggested, including reinstalling and repeating the process and it didn’t work.

It may be an issue that I am running Metatrader 4 through PlayOnMac.

oh…ok
so… Virtualization then

Question : Why have you not downwloaded MT-4 for Mac from your broker, does your broker not offer it ?
in my experience most brokers do but sometimes you need to ask their support for the link
try that
but you are right, it could defiinitely be a virtualization issue, it’s not supposed to happen , but … hey… it happens on Wine doesn’t it and play on mac is basically Wine

@JNGH… Metatrader 4 should run on IOS, check with your Broker for a version that is compatible to run on the IOS version you have. (See example below)
https://www.icmarkets.com/forex-trading-platform/meta-trader-4/apple-mac/

You can download and use the version of MT4 as above and it will run on High Sierra (10.13 )… You just have to renew your login with your existing Username, Password and Server details… I’m running a Pepperstone account on an XM Branded version of MT4.

Hope this is of help…

Thank you. I recently tried downloading MT4 for Mac from fxchoice, but it didnt work properly either. Perhaps, their technical support can help me work it out. I chose them because they also have an MT4 available through web browser as an alternative option…

@JNGH
do me a favour
post the link here of the DOWNLOAD PAGE on fxchoice where you downloaded that installation.
and i’ll install it on my MAC and let’s see if it works
if it doesn’t then your mac is the issue and you need to reformat and reinstall

also what OSX are you using, i just upgraded from Sierra to High Sierra, what are you on

send me that link and i’ll see how it goes

is this where you go it from ?
https://en.myfxchoice.com/software/metatrader-4/

is this is
and keep in mind is your OSX supported?
