Inner Circle Trader's Pro Traders Club 2012 - 2013 Series

So it’s not only me that does that then!

Oh no, not at all! It has sort of become my signature move!

Very big push down in us bond prices - probably the positive chicago pmi - somebody please tell the fx market!

We all do this. Experience will help that end of the trades. Trade management is a big skill, to the point that it makes the skill of entry seem basic at times

I’ve decided that is not the case and it is a direct conspiracy against me as a trader!! :59:

How do you interpret that all Bond prices are down. Follows H1. Is that positive or negative for the USD

edit: bond prices clockwise from upper left
UK10Y
US10Y
GER10Y
US30Y

Bond prices down = increased yields

Increased yields = risk off = higher foreign currencies

Sorry, but isn’t increase in yields equal increase interest rate equal risk on?

Thanks, although I believe that “risk off” results in flight to USD.

hmmm, now you have me questioning myself haha

Yep you are right.

If people are scared they pile in to bonds which increase the price of them. if the prices goes up, the yield reduces. This is a risk off situation.

US News - US bonds reacted - USDX Supposed to follow Bond price - the theory:-

Good US econ news = risk on (all is well in the world economy), bond prices drop, bond yields rise, foreign curr rise, USD falls, everything perfect - thats the theory

See the German followed, having said that they were all at short term resistance so was no big surprise - still it’s interesting that the euro did not react.

Intraday resistance:-
German Bund 142.20
US 5 yr 123.85
US 10 yr 131.50
US t Bond 143.70
All above fell from resistance 13.30 gmt

very muted reaction 13.45 usdx

For those of you who held on, congrats!

you are welcome!
