Because there’s too many guns. And legally purchased guns are sold illegally.

Sadly this is true. The way forward will be social, not legal.
I will admit, if I went to live in the US, one of my first purchases would be a handgun for self-defence. I look on that as a liberty, not a loss of freedom.

I watched this earlier. Instant and incredibly brave reaction to gunfire. A model police officer with the training, resources and commitment to deal with the bad guy.

Within a minute of talking to a mother and children about seatbelts, a mass shooting occurs.
The fact that this has become so common in America is sad
Coincidentally here is a clip of a recent traffic stop in France which went wrong, leading to the driver being shot. Several nights of serious riots have followed in France and elsewhere. Its an unusual reaction by the officer to a driver attempting to flee.
