hallo,
is it possible to invest more money than you have? I mean to for example. place an order and invest 100% of my capital and the market goes up a few pips so I put my SL so I can break even. then I place a new order in which I again invests 100% of my capital, does it work?
When you trade on fx you should follow the Money management rules (at least it is highly recommended).
One of the rules say that a trader should not trade 100% of his/her funds cause in this case 99 trades out of 100 will be closed with a loss.
If you mean can you trade positions larger than your account balance, then yes. That’s the application of leverage. How much larger depends on the permissible leverage for your account (no more than 50:1 for US brokers).
Ahhhh leverage! Where would we be without it!
I’m using a SB account with FXCM 200:1 leverage (yes it is quite high). This enables me to use just £500 margin for a lot.
