Being employed and having a full time job or forex trading, which one do you prefer?
You cannot be an only-trader! you need to generate money somewhere else and then make it bigger with trading!
If i can’t choose both, then i will go with full time employment.
I would suggest employment at a bank or broker firm or other financial institution where you could learn how to trade.
The answer cannot be the same foe every body, we do not live the same lives. For me it would be a full time job, because of the stability.
Choosing between job employment and forex trading really depends on your preferences and goals. Job employment offers stability and a steady income, which can be comforting. On the other hand, forex trading can offer flexibility and potentially higher returns, but it also comes with higher risks. Have you had any experience with forex trading before, or are you considering it for the first time?
I prefer forex trading due to the flexibility and potential for higher returns, though it requires more discipline and risk management compared to a traditional full-time job. Trading allows for autonomy in decision-making and the opportunity to adapt strategies based on market conditions, while a full-time job provides stability and predictable income. The choice depends on individual risk tolerance and lifestyle preferences.
I still prefer having a full-time job.
It depends on personal preference and lifestyle.
A full-time job provides stability, a steady paycheck, and a clear career path.
On the other hand, forex trading offers flexibility and the potential for high rewards. You can work from anywhere, set your hours, and be your boss.
However, it comes with risks, requires a deep understanding of the market, and no guaranteed income can snatch away mental peace during tough times.
I value the balance and security of a full-time job, but I see the appeal of the independence and excitement Forex trading offers.
Depend on condition. If have no money, full time job is the best.
If we are no longer young, trading will provide security as long as we have capital.
To have decent income from forex, the capital is at least 50k. Less then that, we have a lot of pressure.
From having only a 9-5 job to having a 9-5 job and trading on the weekends, to quitting my job and just trading the whole week—this is what I went through. However, how anyone acts depends on their personal life.
Hi! My opinion: I think a full time job is preferable if the trader is undercapitalized, cause with a job they can make their capital grow and at the same time provide to their needs with more certainty; when they are very well capitalized - and they have a good emergency nest in addition to the capital they use for trading - they can consider leaving the job and start an only-trading-career.
But… I’d rather - if possible - add a “mixed” phase, where one can both trade and still have a job, even if not a full time one. Only at the end of this temporary period can they switch completely and in a sure way.
(Incidentally, it’s my path!).
And of course the knowledge for trade! capital alone is not going to pay you out.
I’ve always viewed trading as a second job. It’s not safe or logical to rely solely on forex trading for income.
Good employment opportunities require set of skills which people undergo training to acquire. In the absence of that, a person may have to work all their lives for pittance.
Trading also requires skills to make it one’s primary source of income. Either way, you need the skills to keep a job or trade forex.
I respectfully disagree with the opinion that employment opportunities offer stability and security of income. That is contrary to reality. Many factors can work against a person keeping their job ranging from poor company performance, racial distinction, economic decline, occupational hazards, changes in trends, company relocation, etc. Your job is secure as long as you dance to the tunes of the organization’s policies and regulations. You miss a step once or twice you may be shown the exit.
There are tons of traders who have chosen forex trading as their primary source of income and you won’t find them on youtube or instagram displaying their expensive rides and exotic places they have been to. They are surrounded by the familiar quiet of their lonely trading room knowing the significant weight of their decision when they hit the buy or sell button.
I will take sides with full-time forex trading. As long as one is able to keep their profit expectations to a moderate level, exercise strict money management rules, and trust in the process they will be just fine.
At this stage, I would take a proper job over trading any day.
Full-time is difficult for me because the market is very unpredictable and you never know what will happens. Atleast you can make the stability when it comes to being employed.
For me, there was a bit of a catch-22 with trading while working a full time job.
My learning curve really started after I quit my 9-to-5 and started trading full time. I learned more in my first year as a full time trader / investor than in all the 13 years trading part-time.
As a part-time trader, it was impossible to think like a professional trader / investor because the 9-to-5 job occupied most of my mental capacity.
This makes so much sense to me, congrats on your success. Someday, I hope to have the courage to take this plunge.
