Learning to trade

Hi, can someone please advise me if there are any places to go to learn forex trading in a classroom environment? Are there any schools or colleges? I’m looking for something more substantial than one of these 1 or 2 day seminars. Seems like everything available is online.
Any recomendations for anywhere in the world ?
Thanks in advance - Ian

It would be best if you mention where you’re from. Are you done with the School of Pipsology? that’s a good start to learn forex.

I am not sure, about this education environment! I have never seen in my country (Brazil)! As Roksbaroks mentioned, BabyPips School is very useful educational material, you definitely can start your learning process with this one!

Forex trading College or University is not available! By the way, there have so many virtual educational places in online! You can use Google for knowing the reliable names of Online Forex School and their reviews! I am suggesting you Google, because I never used any paid service! I used popular Forex forums, yes BabyPips School is powerful one!

Well, I used multiple paid services of Forex education including Price Action trading of Nail Fuller! But really frustrated, I seem popular Forex forums are much handy, like BabyPips, ForexFactory, FPA, EarnForex etc!

I live in Thailand but I dont mind traveling anywhere for learning purposes, if there’s some sort of accredited school somewhere. I’ve been through the babypips school but I’d like to learn more, directly with someone, like being mentored.

If you’re in the US then On Line Trading Academy has live classrooms in most major US cities. It’s expensive, and I’m 90% sure they don’t teach ANYTHING that isn’t covered in the Baby Pips School.

The content of ALL their classes is also available, from them, on DVD-ROM for an exorbitant fee.

If you hunt on some of the shadier places on the interwebs then older versions of the DVD-ROMS can be had for cheap.

And this brings up another point.

A lot of people, particularly when they are first starting out, spend a lot of time looking for “The Secret” to successful trading. Well, if there IS a secret, the the secret is that THERE IS NO SECRET. Trends, support & resistance, reversals and breakouts. The rest is just squiggly lines that can only tell you what already happened. That’s really ALL YOU NEED to execute a trading plan.

What separates winning traders from losing traders is the patience to actually WORK OUT a trading plan before entering the trade, the discipline to STICK TO their trading plan once the trade has been entered, and the emotional self possession to ACCEPT THEIR LOSSES when the trade moves against them, and move on the the next trade without losing their mind.

We are all fond of saying “ANYONE can trade FOREX.” That’s true. ANYONE can, but not EVERYONE can. Someone with a B-level trading education but an A-level mental game will kill the market, while an A-level trading plan but a B-level mental game will get crushed and go broke.

You should first learn with babypips then discuss what are the issue with any topic you have in forums to get better knowledge about it.

Thanks, good advice, and I will check out the live classrooms, I could fancy some USA time anyway!

I agree in general. I would throw risk managment in as perhaps the most important factor and a key if not THE KEY to a solid foundation, regardless of other variables.
