Just use a UK one that’s regulated by the UK’s FCA. In practice, doing that avoids almost all potential future problems.
That’s by far your best and safest course.
You don’t have to be British, and you don’t have to be UK-resident, to be protected by the regulator, that way, and by the UK’s financial ombusdman scheme, as well. (There are people in forums who will tell you that you do - I’ve seen them saying that here - and they’re completely wrong. No need to take my word for it: you can very easily check it out for yourself by looking at their websites.
