Ok, so if i were to play live with $1,000; would it be smart? Also, what leverage should i play with to get maximum profit?
It doesnt matter the leverage you use, you can use 50:1 or 400:1. The important thing is that you dont risk more than 3% or 2% of your account in each trade…
so what is the difference between the leverage size??
Your broker’s leverage setting only does two things. First, it tells you the maximum size position you can take. Second, it determines how much margin you need to post for a trade. That’s all. As gasanvill said, it doesn’t really matter much when it comes to actually trading.
So you never play live before. Then forget about leverage, let alone maximize your profit. You don’t even know if you can profit at all. Demo trading notwithstanding, believe me.
Trade live first. Make consistent profit periode after periode. Then you can start worrying about leverage and looking for ways to maximize profit. Otherwise you won’t recognize opportunities to maximize profit even if it stomps you right on the face.
